Such a nice place to stay with amazing service

The place was very cozy and comfortable. We booked a private room with window and bathroom which was spacious and nice. Right when we arrived the owner took his time to give us detailed instructions as well as a whole array of very useful recommendations; even though it was already late in the evening. We followed his recommendations which were all amazing. The friendliness and helpfulness of the owner was noteworthy and I definitely recommend staying here.
The city itself was great. At first look not the most beautiful city I have ever seen but so vibrant, fun and friendly. Everyone was welcoming and we especially enjoyed the delicious food in Kuching.
If you do stay here, go and get some Kolo Mee breakfast at Eng's Café. The place opens around 4am and runs out quickly so if you are heading out early for a tour, this is the place to go.
Also the Sarawak Laksa from Choon Hui (from Anthony Bourdain) was so delicious I am still dreaming about it today.
Thank you for our stay and hopefully see you soon!

Maybe good for backpackers because cheap, very well placed and Wayne gives very good advice. However, it is very rarely there. Breakfast and almost non-existent. You have to help yourself and wash your dishes. A few tea bags, a coffee machine with pods without pods, some jam in a refrigerator that does not refrigerate and two or three bananas. We had taken a room with shower that overlooked the street. No soundproofing, you need earplugs to sleep. The slope of the shower is badly made and there is water everywhere in the bathroom. It's not practical to go to the bathroom and get your feet wet.

Lots of Potential

PROS
- Staff were friendly, especially Wayne; he was our main point of contact. While he's only worked here for a couple months, he was always willing to help us plan activities. The front desk wasn't always manned during business hours, but someone was available via WhatsApp for inquiries and were prompt at responding.
- Prime location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and easy to get around. The bus stop to Bako National Park and Semenggoh Nature Reserve are also nearby.
- Complimentary breakfast included toast with peanut butter, an assortment of jams and bananas. There's also 24/7 tea and coffee.
CONS
- The lodge felt run-down and could use a good tidy up/clean. The pool was out of order and looked like a storage space and the rooftop patio had furniture falling apart and cigarette butts scattered on the floor.
- Lacks common areas to hangout/ relax. The main floor has a couple of couches, but it's right next to the front entrance which was distracting when people were coming and going. The dining area has tables but the chairs weren't comfortable to sit in.
- The private room we had wasn't the most comfortable. While it had AC, hot water for the shower and a decently good mattress, the room was quite small and left little room for our backpacks and space to move around, making us feel claustrophobic- especially without a window. The blanket was very thin and not overly warm. And the bathroom was tight and looked/smelled like it could use a good clean.
- The rooms have minimal soundproofing. We could easily hear doors being shut, people coming/going and talking, as if they were in our room.
- No water filteration system. Had to buy water bottles (available in two sizes in the dining area).
FYI
- Most private rooms do not have a window. The ones with a window cost an additional fee (did not know this when booking online based on the pictures presented).
This property has so much potential and I think it could be wonderful with some TLC.

Very nice play to stay

We had a very pleasant stay here. The manager Herbert was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The interior looks nice, although the pool was under construction but we didn't mind. Locationwise it is a perfect spot in Kuching. We felt right at home here. Highly recommend coming here.

Would recommend to anyone going to Kuching!! Also, Francis Wong was very helpful to drive us by taxi to the orangutans and Bako park. Awesome time here! Try the kolo mee it’s cheap, simple, delicious, and everywhere!!
