Such a nice place to stay with amazing service
The city itself was great. At first look not the most beautiful city I have ever seen but so vibrant, fun and friendly. Everyone was welcoming and we especially enjoyed the delicious food in Kuching.
If you do stay here, go and get some Kolo Mee breakfast at Eng's Café. The place opens around 4am and runs out quickly so if you are heading out early for a tour, this is the place to go.
Also the Sarawak Laksa from Choon Hui (from Anthony Bourdain) was so delicious I am still dreaming about it today.
Thank you for our stay and hopefully see you soon!

Lots of Potential
- Staff were friendly, especially Wayne; he was our main point of contact. While he's only worked here for a couple months, he was always willing to help us plan activities. The front desk wasn't always manned during business hours, but someone was available via WhatsApp for inquiries and were prompt at responding.
- Prime location. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and easy to get around. The bus stop to Bako National Park and Semenggoh Nature Reserve are also nearby.
- Complimentary breakfast included toast with peanut butter, an assortment of jams and bananas. There's also 24/7 tea and coffee.
CONS
- The lodge felt run-down and could use a good tidy up/clean. The pool was out of order and looked like a storage space and the rooftop patio had furniture falling apart and cigarette butts scattered on the floor.
- Lacks common areas to hangout/ relax. The main floor has a couple of couches, but it's right next to the front entrance which was distracting when people were coming and going. The dining area has tables but the chairs weren't comfortable to sit in.
- The private room we had wasn't the most comfortable. While it had AC, hot water for the shower and a decently good mattress, the room was quite small and left little room for our backpacks and space to move around, making us feel claustrophobic- especially without a window. The blanket was very thin and not overly warm. And the bathroom was tight and looked/smelled like it could use a good clean.
- The rooms have minimal soundproofing. We could easily hear doors being shut, people coming/going and talking, as if they were in our room.
- No water filteration system. Had to buy water bottles (available in two sizes in the dining area).
FYI
- Most private rooms do not have a window. The ones with a window cost an additional fee (did not know this when booking online based on the pictures presented).
This property has so much potential and I think it could be wonderful with some TLC.
