Edge of Nature

We really enjoyed our stay in Sepilok Forest Edge Resort for 5 nights. The chalet is clean and comfortable with a view to the lake, also very close to the nature trail. You need good fitness to walk up and down the hilly part of the ground to the restaurant.  All staff are friendly and resolved issues quicky. We also met the Resort owner & his wife, Mr & Mrs Pang who are keen birders, sharing the wildlife encounter nearby.
We chose this resort as it is close to Orangutan & Sun Bear centres about 20 minutes walk in hot humid weather, slightly further away to Rainforest Discovery centre where we did 2 days of birding with our guide, Rahman. Also, the resort ground has lots of wildlife. We saw many colourful birds, especially exciting to spot 2 wild orangutans (mother & child) outside our chalet foraging in the natural environment...... 
Definitely, a highly recommended resort

Poor offering with many issues, but very well located for Sepilok

Booked two basic rooms here for three nights as a base for Sepilok. Basic rooms are effectively one step up from the dorms and for the cost were very over-priced (2/3 the cost of 2 rooms at 5 star IHG in Kuala Lumpur).
One room missing shower curtain. Rooms not very clean with bug remains. Very sparsely decorated. My room was left unlocked by the cleaners one morning. Main restaurant/bar had very poor and over-priced food offerings and bar didn't serve much beyond 9-45. In any case not much of an area to relax in. Breakfast equally poor, serving such things as lukewarm chicken nuggets. One of the poorest breakfasts over the last few years holidays. It's the level of offering at the price being charged which lets it down.
One positive - the grounds were very pleasant and we did see an orangutan.

Enthusiastic beyond expectations

I found the facility clean and well organized, due to a lack of space we stayed the first night in the “dormitory”, 2 bunk beds (my son and I occupied one) with a shared bathroom; a positive experience despite the fact that I am not used to sharing a room with strangers.
The second evening, management moved us to a cottage with air conditioning and a porch, everything was exceptional.
The staff is kind and welcoming, the breakfast buffet is rich and very good,

The restaurant area and pool area are very welcoming.

Perfect jungle stay

Loved our stay at Forest edge. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The lodge was lovely and so nice to be in the jungle. The new pool is perfect for cooling off after a busy day exploring. Breakfast is fine with enough choices for everyone to find something they like. If you’re lucky you may just see a wild orangutan visit the site like we did during breakfast.

The Instagrammer should be kept away from such places.

Very nice place with rainforest next to which wildlife come to resort area. This should just be a place for elderly and nature friendly people who love animals and nature. All the screaming kids and instagram generation people should be kept away. But it's probably worth it for it to get up in the morning and sit on the terrace and see when suddenly an orangutan emerges from somewhere.
The restaurant should perhaps have a little nicer staff and more active.
