I enjoyed my 4 nights stay here and will come back for few more nights. The room is very clean. However the room phone is not working and each time I had to go downstairs to talk to the receptionist. It took 4 days and nothing gets fixed. The servers in the restaurant were also rude to me, probably I’m the only Asian woman there. The island has a strong Indian culture influence I'm afraid maybe they talk to women down, I mean some male servers. Women receptionists are very nice and friendly. Breakfast is simple and same each day.

Good value for money, staff very friendly and helpful. Splendid view from the rooms and the roof top restaurant and pool is amazing with a nice view over the bay. The breakfast buffet had good variation including fruit and pancakes. The dinner was a nice mix of a la carte and buffet.

First off we booked a room close to where daughter lived with the expectation she could come and hang out with us in the evening. When we checked in we were told she was only allowed to go to the bar. She couldn’t come to our room at all. This should have been listed in the write up of the room or at least posted in our confirmation. Second we booked the room with the tub and surrounding windows(we paid extra for that room). The tub did not ever have hot water. We mentioned to staff several times and they said they were told it was fixed but it was not. The windows were broken. One was open when we checked in and we really had to struggle to close. On last day we opened another one and we couldn’t get it to close. There was a table in the room and you couldn’t really work at it because it wasn’t level and rocked. The second to last night we had been out and we were going up to the bar to hang out with my daughter. The staff at the front desk stopped us and told us that it was too late. Again never told that there was a time limit. I asked to speak to the Manager and expressed my all of my frustrations. He apologized and then allowed us to come up for a drink. He comped drinks. The staff was very nice and tried to accommodate. My biggest complaint was we were never told these policies from booking. The hotel itself really could use a little more updating.

The sea view from the room and rooftop restaurant was absolutely amazing. All of the staff went above and beyond, their customer service was the best, a special mention to Manish and Jessica who were always cheerful. The breakfast was ok and plentiful although a bit repetitive with the same choices everyday. Some variety would have been nice with maybe some local options offered. We booked half board and tried several of the dishes on the a la carte menu for dinner but unfortunately they all lacked flavour. The buffet nights on Thursdays and Saturdays were very good though. The Japanese restaurant - Manzu, was closed during our stay. The rooms and bathrooms would benefit from some maintenance, there was missing and mouldy grout and silicone in the bathroom and some parts of the walls in the bedroom were crumbling. We were on the 2nd floor and the noise from the main road was very loud at times with buses and motorbikes roaring past. I liked that it was an adult only spa hotel and enjoyed a lovely relaxing massage by Zarah. The hotel is located only a 5 minute walk to the lovely Pereybere beach and close to bus stops for transport to/from Grand Baie and other areas.
