We have spent wonderful days at this Barcelo. Ballard, the people it's incredible this morning Yoxaxil y también itzel were very nice serving on our table. I do recommend this place. It's incredibly beautiful paradise, good variety of food with a lot of happy people!!!

Came as a present for my wedding and also my friends birthday!
First time here and I absolutely fell in love. Im bringing my fiance back. And would recommend this place to anybody. Couple, family, solo trip.

Great Location, Very Disappointing Cleanliness & Service
The location of Barceló Puerto Vallarta is beautiful, but unfortunately, the cleanliness and service were very disappointing.
During our stay, my daughter became very sick with repeated vomiting after eating at the hotel. She required a visit from the hotel doctor and was sick for approximately 12 hours. She was the only person in our group who became ill, so we reported this as a possible foodborne illness/contamination concern to the appropriate authorities for investigation.
What disappointed me most was the hotel's response. The supervisor who came to our room did not introduce himself and seemed more concerned about the "Do Not Disturb" sign than my sick child. After telling him what was happening, he simply said the doctor was on the way and left. No one from management followed up with us afterward to ask how my daughter was doing.
I also personally saw flies around food at the buffet, which was very concerning. The pool area was another issue—on several occasions, cups from the previous night were still floating in the pool, and I saw lemons floating in the water as well.
It's unfortunate because the location is excellent, but cleanliness, food-safety concerns, and the lack of caring service really overshadowed the positives.
For a Premium-level resort, I expected much better. I would not recommend this hotel to families looking for a clean resort with attentive management.

This place was one of the best things to happen to me. After a year of intensely caring for other people, I had a week where I truly felt like I was being taken care of. We came here for our honeymoon and what I wanted was a place where I could really rest and not worry about anything. That’s what this week was! From the moment we arrived at check in, to getting a massage at the spa, all the staff at the restaurants, the cleaning staff, the bar tenders, the people who would come around and ask if I wanted drinks, the performers in the show we went to, all week I felt pampered. It felt like luxury, the room was very nice, I loved listening to the birds on the balcony in the morning. I highly recommend.
