Hotel Riu Cancun is a great choice for a fun all-inclusive vacation. It offers several restaurants, a good buffet, plenty of activities, and a quieter pool for those who want to relax.
The beach has calm water, although there are several piers and some sargassum. The staff is exceptionally friendly and attentive.
The rooms are comfortable, but I noticed a slight musty smell, and I think the hotel could benefit from some renovations.
Overall, I had a great stay. Riu is always a reliable choice.

Great place to stay if you’re a college student or young adult. Honestly didn’t know 18 year olds could drink in Mexico. That was new. But the rooms weren’t really clean, and the elevator didn’t have air. Also was falling apart. But the food was okay in the buffet. But the party’s will be worth all the trouble. Whites party, pink party and neon party, all worth it.

This is a hotel for younger adults who like a more lively leisurely time. It can get very loud especially at night. If that’s not your scene, stay at the Hotel Riu Palace. The Riu Cancun was very gracious in allowing me to transfer to the Palace when it got a bit too loud. I greatly appreciated that. My only suggestion for improvement are to switch to a more comfortable bed and linens. I didn’t sleep very well, aside from the noise.

I’ve been in RIU many times, at RIU CANCUN twice, usually the people and service is amazing. At this time I got disappointed with many changes that may be more from the administration, such as having a limited food right at noon time when everyone is looking for lunch, coffee stations and bars opening only after 10am, for an early bird like me it was chocking. Not activities after 9:30pm a few days a week (in the hotel site) they offer you to go somewhere else, that requires shuttle buses and other people involved (not really for having fun without concern). It would be good to have the RIU of few years ago BACK. Thank you for reading.

Overall nice stay. I would recommend better room key card due to constantly having to get it reactivated due the key card being by your cellphone devices. But nice hotel and close to everything
