Delicious experience in Coatepec

I really liked the hotel, it is small but very quiet and especially very clean, which not everywhere you see. I went with my family and they gave us a typical breakfast very rich, I recommend the green sauce. Also that everything was very close, my only recommendation is that they open the restaurant in the evenings for dinner because in their profile says that they open it and we were unlucky that they closed the restaurant at 6pm, or modify that information in their profile, we will definitely return next year!

Abysmal experience, did not respect my already confirmed booking and zero responsibility

On April 16, 2025, I contacted the official number of the hotel via WhatsApp to check availability of a room from Friday 18 to Sunday 20. They confirmed that they did and provided the price.
Despite reading several bad reviews about the place, I decided to book as for my activities I only needed a place to sleep. On April 17, I wrote again to make the reservation. They asked me to wait for availability confirmation and after 3 hours of waiting, they confirmed the reservation and indicated that the payment would be direct at reception.
On Friday the 18th, after traveling by road and making time to respect the check-in time, I arrived at the hotel. I couldn’t even get out of my vehicle, as a man approached me at the entrance, asking if I had checked in yet. I explained that I had not, but that a day earlier my reservation had been confirmed. His answer was that this was impossible because they had been with the hotel full for a week. I showed him the conversations and he recognized that that was the official number of the hotel, but there was no room for me. He said "an apology" and left, with no solution.
I had to get back out of the lousy, dangerous parking lot and find some available hotel in the middle of high season. It took me hours to find one that could receive me, which ruined my day and all my plans.
When I withdrew, I sent a message to the number from where the reservation had been made waiting for at least an apology or explanation, but it has been 16 days to this day and I never got a response.
If you are considering staying here, I really recommend looking for other options. For the same price or less you can find much more professional and responsible places in your service.
If you can’t even trust bookings made directly with the hotel, imagine what it would be like with bookings made through websites. Very poor management of its administration and zero respect for the time and trust of its customers.

Superb hosts, good homecooked food, and a nice place to lay one's head

What more can you ask for? For a penny-watching traveler, finding a 5-star place on a low-star budget is a real treat. Hotel La Orquidea fit that bill. The people are warm and hospitable, the on-site cafe serves fresh, homecooked local foods, and my room was sparkling clean and comfortable ... all at a reasonable rate. The location is close to the central plaza and parking is available. WiFi is good, which is important for business travelers. I will stay here again when I return to Coatepec.

The hotel was exactly where it was supposed to be but still a bit hard to find. Our room was clean but pretty small. Since it overlooked the street there was some Saturday night noise but turned dead quiet around midnight. Lots of hot water in the sink and shower. The breakfast looked good and substantial but we missed it to make an appointment.
