Second stay here, Wood highly recommend close to the Cathedral area plenty of food and shopping within walking distance

Overall, a good experience.

Staff are fantastic. The place is clean and well run. Room was comfortable.
However, I'm amazed at people who rave about the location. Yes, it's close to the Cathedral. But you have to walk through a few sketchy blocks of mostly abandoned buildings with people living on the street. I would not walk here after dark. The central court of the hotel is very pretty, but the hotel lacks nice common areas to sit, read, and visit.
A good breakfast/lunch restaurant attached, but no hotel bar. Water is not potable (understandable) and they give you two small bottles with the room, but there's nowhere to buy more water close by.
We enjoyed our three nights, but I wouldn't say we found our "favorite" home away from home in Guadalajara.

Hotel PALPATIO ,Most Wonderful Boutique Hotel in Guadalajara

I was warmly greeted by Jaime who checked me in and showed me to my beautiful and spacious room . He took the time to explain the amenities ,how the A/C works , how to access the other parts of the hotel .He gave concierge level service. Palpatio does indeed have four patios . The upper level with Guadalajara City views. The location was great for me with easy walking to the city center with The Cathedral de Guadalajara ,Hospicio Cabañas , Plaza de Armas markets and the Centro de Technologia. I discovered a cantina from 1850 a small breakfast café and many food spots in the center. I have stayed in 8 or 9 different hotels in Guadalajara in the last 9 years . Without a doubt my nexts visits to Guadalajara I will be staying at Palpatio. I almost forgot to mention there is an excellent restaurant on site. El Particular serves traditional local food. And for venturing out in the evening Barba Negra has live music .Jazz , Blues and rock served nightly . Uber rides or Uber Taxis are very accesible.

Palpatio is a wonderful oasis in Guadalajara’s historic center, complemented by competent and courteous staff, easy access to the art and culture of the city, and a fine restaurant on site. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Palpatio is in a great location to stay when you visit Guadalajara. The staff was very kind and helpful with any requests. The resturant had a nice variety of yummy breakfast meals and they made the best specialty drinks. I would highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel!
