Avoid at all costs!
I paid on March 24, 2026 for a 75m2 apartment and on July 13, 2026, the day before our arrival, we were informed that the apartment was not available and we were offered two options for the same price: 1. Same hotel 2 small separate rooms (we are 2 adults with 2 children), choice 2. Another hotel further away 2 small connecting rooms + breakfast and all for the same price!!!! I had to call the police upon our arrival in order to receive a full refund. Ananda Hotel and Majo Hotel, stay away!!! A scam!!!

Warning! Cancellation the day before, a scam!
I booked and paid in full, on March 24, 2026, for a 75 m² apartment, ideally located in the center of Holbox, for a family trip (2 adults and 2 children).
On July 13, 2026, the day before our arrival, the hotel informed us that the apartment was ultimately no longer available. As a "solution," they offered us:
* two small separate rooms in the same hotel;
* or two small connecting rooms in another hotel, further away, with breakfast included.
All this... at the same price as the 75 m² apartment we had booked and paid for several months in advance.
With two children, it is obviously impossible to accept two separate rooms. We had also chosen this apartment for its location right in the center of Holbox. On the island, there are no cars: every trip is made on foot or by golf cart taxi, which represents an additional cost. The second hotel therefore absolutely did not correspond to our reservation.
Upon our arrival, I had to call the police in order to obtain the cancellation of the reservation and a full refund.
The most incomprehensible thing is that the refund via Booking takes between 7 and 12 days. We therefore had to advance a new sum to find other accommodation in an emergency, without having our money immediately available. An excellent surprise… right at the beginning of vacation!
In the end, we had to manage on our own to find last-minute lodging.
I strongly advise against the Ananda and Majo hotels. This way of treating customers is, in my experience, totally unacceptable and gives the feeling of deceptive practices. Be very vigilant before booking.
