Wonderful place, staff, and location
We loved this small hotel!!
The best features were the LOCATION, the AMAZING staff, and the cool and relaxing courtyard and grounds.
We stayed in the largest suite but got to see into the some other rooms and felt they all seemed lovely although smaller than our room, but with the beautiful common spaces and the lovely Centro of Merida on your doorstep any room would be a positive experience at this lovely boutique hotel! We liked our room on the second floor with the relaxing shared sitting area outside and did not mind the one flight of stairs to access.
We were close walking distance from everything and it felt easy to come back to the room as needed throughout the day or to enjoy an afternoon siesta in the heat of the afternoon! It felt very safe to walk the streets in the Centro area even late at night with the Calle 60 being closed weekend nights for pedestrians only and plentiful crowds in the public squares and local bars (with lots of live music, different vibes (Trova, salsa, jazz, contemporary, etc), and even dancing at some locations). There are locations very close by for a party vibe if that interests you (with music audible on select weekend evenings from the courtyard of the hotel but reasonably dampened within the rooms. Ear plugs were available if needed.
The bed was comfortable and the room featured provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, a grooming kit, and a hairdryer. Pool and bath towels were provided.
Hot water was available with acceptable pressure but ran out if you took a long shower. Breakfast was amazing with rotating options each morning. The bed was comfortable.
We stayed 5 nights in February and easily would have enjoyed staying longer!!

A few days in Merida
We absolutely loved this little boutique hotel. You never know what delights lie behind the street doors in Merida! Our room was beautiful and large. The shower was excellent too. Everything was very clean. Karime the lady in charge always had a smile and could not do enough for us from bringing breakfast to our room to organising a trip to Chichen Itzá and a taxi to the Mayan train. We also appreciated the very picturesque little pool area which we made use of after a busy day in the heat. If we are ever back in Merida we would stay there again!

MY PLACE TO FEEL LIKE A QUEEN
Casa Tavera, from the moment you open its gate, you breathe in a wonderful aroma of glamour combined with chic. Every corner has something beautiful: its chandeliers, its polished and impeccable Mexican floors, its fine wood details that transport you to the era of kings, but always with that contemporary touch. Each room has something different and special. Every morning, they offer you coffee ☕ with cookies in your room to start the day beautifully, and I cannot fail to mention that perfect pool that invites you to relax; it has a very nice and cozy design, and it became my favorite refuge whenever I am here in Mérida... when you are here, you know you have achieved what you wanted in your life come live this experience, a privileged place in a cultural area and one of the most beautiful in the city.

The staff here are very attentive and excellent. They greeted us at the door, helped coordinate an outing after our original tour company had to cancel. Also, provided superb dining recommendations and local area activity information. The hotel is quiet, safe, secure and has comfortable accommodations. Daily cleaning, wifi and air conditioning all in order. I would recommend Casa Tavera for your stay. Thank you :)
