A Sanctuary of Discreet Luxury
Tucked away behind a discreet entrance, the property opens into a verdant, sun-drenched courtyard featuring hand-carved stone accents. The guest suites are spacious, complemented by local artwork.
With its moody, atmospheric lounge, it offers a sophisticated retreat for the discerning traveler seeking a tranquil yet distinctive city escape.
Now, why my only 3 stars: here are the cons:
Advice for Your Stay
Despite a few operational quirks, this hotel offers a unique atmosphere that is well worth the visit if you arrive prepared. To make the most of your experience, here is some friendly advice for navigating the minor inconveniences:
Managing the Essentials
Housekeeping & Supplies: Since full cleaning and trash removal occur every other day, don't hesitate to request extra coffee, toilet paper, or fresh towels the moment you see your supply getting low.
Linens: If you prefer your sheets changed during a longer stay, simply ask the staff directly, as they typically prioritize making the bed with the existing linens to remain eco-friendly.
Water Strategy: The lobby provides a small jar as a refill station, but it can run low during peak hours. I recommend bringing a larger reusable bottle or picking up a few extra gallons from a local shop to keep in your room so you aren't reliant on the smaller lobby jars.
Dining & Comfort
The "No-Fridge" Lifestyle: Since rooms lack a mini-fridge or microwave, plan for a "fresh-only" approach to food. If you enjoy healthy salads or snacks, try to buy only what you can eat in one sitting to avoid wasting leftovers.
Tech & Entertainment: The TVs are primarily in the local language, making this the perfect excuse for a digital detox. Bring a tablet or a good book for your evening entertainment.
Enjoying the Amenities
The Rooftop Pool: While the rooftop offers a lovely view, the water can catch falling leaves and dust from the surrounding trees. If you see a bit of debris, just view it as part of the rustic, "bathtime" charm of a boutique space.
Value: Focus on the incredible ambiance and the "great value" for the price point. If you are a low-maintenance traveler who values style and location over corporate-standard amenities, you will find this to be a truly rewarding escape.
Bottom Line: If you can live without a few modern appliances and don't mind asking for what you need, the beauty of this sanctuary far outweighs the effort!
