Beautiful hotel and location
I found Manta Raya at the end of two months travelling and it is lovely. The beach is beautiful and the staff at the hotel are all professional, welcoming, and friendly. The hotel is beautiful with large comfortable rooms and beds. safe, quiet, so peaceful. absolutely the best!!!!

This place deserves 10 stars!
If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would. You already did the hard part which was managing to find this place on the internet, once you book it you will already be on vacation. I’ve taken countless trips in my life and this has been once of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. If you’re looking for seclusion, amazing service and a beautiful, practically private beach with incredible views and sounds of the ocean you found your perfect place.
Everything has been seamless, I emailed management before I booked the accommodation because I’m plant based, to see if I would be able to eat at the restaurant. Not only could I eat there, but they emailed me back with a list of menu ideas that they had in mind to make for me, I was so touched. There is one other hotel accommodation a short walk away that has an entirely plant based menu, but I chose to stay at Manta Raya because of the unparalleled views, beach access and incredible reviews. I am so glad I did!
The care that Reto and his team put into this hidden gem of a place is unmatched. If you have a question, they are happy to help come up with a solution. Reto helped me book a taxi from the airport to do some shopping for some plant based provisions and to the hotel which has made my stay even more convenient. Everyone from the servers to kitchen staff and cleaners are so friendly and nice.
The food and cocktail menu is incredible, being the “only game in town” you might think you could get bored with the menu, but that is absolutely NOT the case. They have new appetizers every day to offer and their existing menu is extensive. I’ve had dinner each night here for a week and it’s been spectacular, especially the view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. A bonus that fruit, bread and cereal with coffee/tea is included for breakfast as well. For the quality of the food and service the prices are reasonable which also helps make this the perfect vacation.
I came by myself for a solo relaxing vacation and this is more than what I could have hoped for. I’ve rarely gone back to a place a second time on vacation, but as soon as I got to Manta Raya I knew I would be back. Once you are here there is no need to leave. Muchas Gracias Manta Raya!

Treat yourself to what will become your favourite beach stay
Had a wonderful experience here. Every day felt like a gift. The location is wonderful, remote and from my room (on the 2nd floor) I had the feeling the waves were literally at my feet. Good bed, excellent cleaning, aircon and fan. Ample terrace with a hammock. Everything is taken such good care of that I did not feel any need to leave the hotel at any point during my 6-day stay. You can go for walks on the beach or on the nearby paths. Breakfast was good with a different choice of fresh fruits every day. Also the possibility to order hot dishes. The very friendly staff ensured you could get food at any time you wanted for lunch/late afternoon bite. I tried almost the entire menu, and all was tasty and freshly prepared. Dinners were great with every day a different choice for both fish and meat. You could taste the quality of the produce and the love that goes into the preparation. Appreciated the fact that no artificial ingredients whatsoever are used.
Found prices for food & beverages very reasonable in terms of quality and location.
Appreciated the opportunity to refill water bottles (and the fact that a glass bottle is provided for that purpose).
Pool was cleaned daily and very nice for a swim if the waves get too wild.
The staff and owner make this place a true gem and are always willing and able to help with advice or arrange transportation.
I noticed that this place attracts the kind of considerate travellers who come there to disconnect and enjoy the nature. No loud music, no inconsiderate use of the pool or facilities and perfectly quiet nights.
My suggestion if you can manage stairs: book a room on the 1st or 2nd floor so you have the wonderful seaview straight from the room. There is a room on the ground floor which also looked nice and is handy if you want to be close to the restaurant and practically on the beach.
