Staff rifle through your things and steal your money!
If you check reviews on other websites you’ll see plenty of negative ones about a woman who works on reception who wears glasses. Unsurprisingly, she was the main culprit and her story kept changing.
If you leave them a negative review, they make up complete lies stating:
A) They have “cameras in the bedrooms so a robbery couldn’t happen” - there are no cameras, nor should there be! Even if there was, it’s incredibly gross to be watching guests sleep and god knows whatever else. Huge invasion of privacy
B) That the website you booked through has “informed them you’ve been making multiple claims about other properties”. As if a third party would ever do this - huge breach of data protection laws and such a ridiculous lie
C) You never stayed there and they have no idea who you are
They are incredibly dishonest, sneaky people. Avoid at all costs.

Nice clean rooms, but not a hostel atmosphere
The location is great, very central located to walk to the centre and the market. I did try the breakfast 2 times which was ook, but too expensive for what it was.
I think this is a good location for a couple or family, but if you're travelling alone you will miss the real hostel vibes. There were no common area's where everyone came together and they did not organize any activities, in spite that there are so many day trips to do.
Dia de los Muertos is amazing! Don't miss it.

Excelente relación calidad / precio Great views of Oaxaca /Friendly staff
This hostel has also private rooms, really well located, near Santo Domingo. It has a great terrace with a friendly staff that knows everything about Real Oaxaca, not only touristy..
