Nice, comfortable, central stay
A very comfortable hotel at a suitable price and well located. The price includes breakfast buffet. Their common areas are very cozy. It also has a roofed parking lot and elevator. It is convenient to book in advance because it quickly fills up.

Terrible experience.
If you want to get angry, have the facilities fail daily, and on top of that have them blame you, La Casa de la Iaia is the perfect place. Terrible experience.
To start: I was left half-bathed with conditioner in my hair because they ran out of water. It took them 20 minutes to fix it, and I missed some tickets because of that delay. The next day, because of using a hair dryer and a travel steamer, the power for the outlets went out. I reported it, they ignored me at the front desk, and I had to call again 20 minutes later just for them to finally file the report; thanks to that, I had to reschedule my taxi and I arrived late to my best friend's wedding.
Forget about working from home here; they have Wi-Fi, but it doesn't work well. It didn't even work on cell phones, and the signal was also bad in the rooms.
The "white" towels are gray and dingy.
The room key would deactivate EVERY TIME I returned to the hotel.
Unfortunately, 2 days were ruined for me due to hotel issues. We spoke with the receptionist about our annoyance and dissatisfaction and wanted to speak with the manager, and they told us he wasn't there but that she was going to look into it. At checkout, the receptionist acted as a messenger to say that it had already been explained to us that it was our fault. When I didn't accept that, they sent me Victor, the Assistant Sales Manager, because the General Manager never had the courage to show his face.
Victor arrived without introducing himself, we explained our dissatisfaction to him, and he accused us of having plugged in an "electric grill" or something heavy because their facilities couldn't possibly fail. When we clarified what was plugged in, he insinuated that there was no way (as if we were lying) and then started complaining that water in Orizaba is very expensive, almost insinuating that they were doing us a favor by not charging us for the water trucks. I paid for a functional room, and we only spent an uncomfortable time there. We didn't even receive a formal apology, only justifications for the problems. Victor even said that he was present when the breaker tripped and that flipping the light breaker back on only took him 3 minutes, confirming that the front desk pointlessly held our report for 20 minutes.
One star because I cannot give zero. The only redeeming thing about the whole hotel is the treatment from the waiter at breakfast and the hotel's location.

Nice hotel I would definitely go back there.
Nice hotel, nice location too and I had a nice view of all those beautiful old buildings from my room. It's very noisy, though. I could hear everything from my neighbors, really everything.
But the staff is extremely friendly and the rooms are well cleaned and tidy, which is all fine, as are the beds that sleep great and the nice shower.
Good parking garage.
Breakfast is typical Mexican breakfast with little variety. And on the 1st last day there was iron mortar in my fruit, so I opened my mouth, I also found the dining room not so clean and neither did the kitchen, like the rest of the hotel that was a lot better than that bit. But nice hotel, I could definitely sleep there again, which is difficult to reach by all one-way traffic but with some navigation to do well.
