Excellent

Good place I loved in the middle of the jungle, and listening to the cooing night noises, and the restaurant excellent in its meals...

Restaurant el panchan

The restaurant is delicious, it handles good prices, the service is very good and the Mood for Night Show is amazing. However I did not stay in the cabins, at first glance they have a large jungle vegetation that would be worth knowing.

FINALLY THE REAL FOREST - THANK YOU SO MUCH

This is the place I've been looking for all the time of a month in Mexico and I finally found it... Finally true forest but also a place to rely on for food and water, real Mexican prices, real quality...
I had been there 20 years ago and it stuck with me, but I couldn't find it because it's not on Airbnb or Booking, so I thought they were fully booked and they weren't! Contact them via FB! Only for quiet and nature friendly people, no WIFI in the room and in the forest.
I can tell you after a long journey that those of EL PANCHAN were the only ones really able to combine human presence and nature respecting it (total immersion in the forest, low rooms and no invasive structures, soft music, lights in the trees only down). As if that wasn't enough, here I finally found an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu, and without being plucked! Dream prices that correspond to dream rooms and food, easy movement, public transport on the carretera (which you can not hear from the forest), restaurant with soft concerts, no annoying noises and... just next to the entrance to the Mayan ruins.... enter on foot, it is only one kilometer to the entrance, although they will tell you that there are 4!
After a month between Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Campeche and now Chiapas, for my taste these are still and always NUMBER ONE and I am very surprised that they do not create so many other places like this, instead of building hotels and shops all the same everywhere.
I wanted to get there sooner,,, but maybe it had to be this way.
REALLY CONGRATULATIONS to whoever runs EL PANCHAN, finally really eco people, with the wish to always stay like this!

Extremely unfriendly staff

I've traveled for six years now and have very rarely cared to write reviews before but I've never experienced such arrogant, unprofessional, unfriendly behavior as in El Panchan. I stayed at Jungle Palace and the woman running it seems to hate her job as much as she seem to hate people. It's not really a jungle camp; maybe it was in the past but now there's a big construction site just 30 meters away and it's just as noisy as in the city. Throughout the whole day, every day. There's no kitchen so one is forced to buy all meals in the over-prized restaurant, where you get badly treated day after day, and a mandatory tip is charged with every meal. Sometimes the whole camp smells of human feces. The dirty chemical water from the laundry service is pumped out into the river running through the camp. The owner is rarely seen, but sometimes he comes to yell at the employees. Apparently the camp used to be nice in the past but obviously that era is long gone. Perhaps there are better places to stay in el panchan, but whatever you do stay away from the jungle palace and the hateful woman running it. Rats got into my cabaña and explored the inside of my backpack. One morning there was a huge dead rat on the bathroom floor. I asked the woman of Jungle Palace if I could store my stuff in the lockers for a few days as I was heading off for a hike, and she said it was ok but said my stuff might get eaten by rats in the lockers. When I came back to pick the stuff up she had put a bunch of stuff in front of that locker and was angry over the fact that I had left things in there. I just picked the stuff up and left for another place.
I give El Panchan one star for the atmosphere that the guests managed to create despite the rude and self-righteous staff. Also the nature is beautiful, although ruined by the noise of the huge construction site.
And the old woman serving breakfast from a little kiosk-like shed was actually very friendly.

Never again!

This place is more a ruin than the maya ruins you want to visit when you are in Palenque!
There are 3 different providers for cabins.
And all of them lack investments, they didn’t paint or invest any money for years...so some of the cabins are just disgusting. When you see them you are shocked. Further more when you see the sanitaries.
On top the atmosphere is not welcoming.
Also the restaurant isn’t very good.
I’ll never ever go there again
