Nice cliffside hotel…amazing view

We stayed for 5 nights in Terraza which we think has the best view and a very large private terrace with chairs, tables and 2 hammocks. We relaxed here daily. The bed was super comfortable, A/C worked great and hot water for shower worked well! We were able to walk to the main strip that is full of bars and restaurants anytime of day or night…probably 10-15 min walk. Would stay here again.

Can’t recommend- rethink puerto Escondido

I wish this place worked but my family had a terrible time here. Rooms are ok tho bare, and villa kitchens are unequipped to actually cook. Beach was body to body with locals- no private section for hotel guests despite a steep private staircase down to the beach. Plus you have to pay $15 for one chair — crammed next to the next one and the umbrellas have holes. It’s also very hard to get food or drink at the beach unless you are Mexican. Hotel Pool is small and dirty and there is little privacy on the grounds. Staff and locals are constantly walking around the tiny area which is shared with the overpriced restaurant. (Every few minutes you hear happy birthday from the restaurant.) Internet was down most of the time. Staff was friendly but uninformed and unhelpful. We felt isolated and bored and hot as hell. Restaurants in town (a 10 minute walk through stinky trash filled dirt roads) are mediocre and overpriced plus no air conditioning anywhere. I cannot recommend this hotel or even Puerto Escondido if you are an American tourist looking for a pleasant relaxing vacation. Don’t waste your money or your vacation days here.

Gorgeous small hotel with outstanding views

Stayed here on a spur of the moment trip to PE- they didn’t have availability for the full week but managed to accommodate me for the whole stay by moving rooms a couple of times. Thank you Angelica! All of the hotel staff were wonderful. I stayed in three rooms, all with unbelievable views of Playa Carrizalillo below and sunsets every evening. Terraza has the eponymous huge terrace with hammocks, a full kitchen area. Escondido has floor to ceiling glass with an amazing view, half kitchen, outside patio with recliners. Both were gorgeous. My last stop was the newly renovated Florencia. Fabulous.
The grounds are lush and well kept.
Plenty of sitting areas with hammocks, a nice pool to cool down in. Gated steps lead directly from the hotel to the beach-much easier than the public steps down the cliff to the beach. The beach is lovely, sheltered from ocean surf, gentle waves, but it shelves quite steeply so most stay in the first few feet- but it’s warm, clean and great for swimming and snorkeling further out. Even saw a whale and calf at the entrance to the bay. Play Angelito is a 5 min walk in the other direction.
The Espadín restaurant is attached to the hotel- open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in an open aire rooftop with amazing views. There are plenty of restaurants a 5 min walk to the north at every price point, or a ten min taxi ride into Zicotela for even more choices.
If you want a quiet, relaxing place to stay with easy access to a beautiful beach and great food, this should be on your list. And it’s only a 5 min taxi ride from the airport.

Lovely Hotel with Gorgeous Beach/Sunset View

Lovely paradise-like hotel with breathtaking view of the Carrizalillo Bay. We stayed there for 5 nights during our stay in Puerto Escondido. The hotel was very nice. View was spectacular. Staff very warm and accommodating. The walk from our room to the beach was very short.
