Amazing food and ambience

We recently went on a tour to see the monarch butterflies and ancient ruins in Western Mexico. My friend and I and our tour guide ate there late one night. I believe they were closed when we approached (most other restaurants were), but they opened up to accommodate us. The food was first class. The burritos are bursting with flavor. There is a small side salad with an amazing vinaigrette which I wish I could get the recipe for. We also ordered every type of tapas that they had. Those too were amazing. I was really hoping to go back the following day, but was not able to. If I ever return, I will be eating here again. There are beautiful quotes painted into the walls, and there you are surrounded by antiques and other memorabilia which gives this cafe an intimate and gentle ambiance. There is an M painted on their hotel sign, I believe this might mean that they have been awarded the Michelin. We did not spend the night in the hotel has he had booked accommodations elsewhere.

A simple lodging

We had a three-bed room around the corner on the 2nd floor. Room was very basic. My bed was comfortable. Bathroom was small and there was no hot water. To my surprise, the room was not cold at night and the blanket was very thick and warm. Staffs were friendly.

Good for the price.

Small charming hotel or more like a hostal. It used to be 2 separated houses that they transformed in the hostal. The room that we had was big and clean and the bathroom was recently renewed so it was good. Don't expect something fancy it's just the basics. This place does have a restaurant. I don't know how good it is because we didn't try it. We went to the Sunday street market to eat.

Good for the Price

Very friendly owner and a convenient location in the small village. The bed was hard, but had three blankets for the cold winter night. The room was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The Wi-Fi signal was strong. We were the only guests on a Tuesday evening and I believe the restaurant is only open on weekends for breakfast.
Tlalpujahua is a very cute, well preserved, colonial town with and interesting history and industry. I would suggest visiting an ornament factory to watch ornaments being blown and painted, then buying some at fantastic prices.

Beautiful and colorful Posada.

It's a nice and quiet Posada with an exceptional service from Rosalia the owner.
Nice, clean and basic quarters.
Excellent for backpackers and budget travellers. Close to main downtown atracctions such as Parroquia del Carmen and Main Square.
