Sleep like a jaguar in the jungle!

This was my third time going to PocNa (so far I go every two years and plan to be there in 2028!). It is truly one of the most magical places you can possibly visit. The property is in the Jaguar National Park and is far from the "party scene" of Tulum - which I have no interest in (but it is a short trip into town if you want to go eat - or even go party). So special to be in the park, and you are a twenty minute walk to the Tulum Ruins (or take one of the property's free bikes). The property is on the beach but also nestled into the jungle and walking through the property (especially after dark) feels like being ten years old at camp (if you loved going to camp) - but nothing about the rooms are like camping - the accommodations are very nice and the brutalist style lends to and does not detract from the environment around you. Every room has some kind of porch/balcony and there is nothing more magical than watching the sunset (or if you get up early the sunrise). We also enjoyed the food on the property (breakfast is included) as well as the massage services which were incredible. The staff is all incredibly nice and we especially enjoyed getting to know Juan, Gustavo and Victoria. Our only notes of "advice" to the property is to maybe have some time in the day (breakfast) with no music or just some music in spanish - the English/basa nova covers of pop songs can be a bit much - especially first thing in the morning; and also maybe do not have staff approaching rooms to rake pathways/etc at 8am as it's nice to leave shades open but don't want to accidentally expose anything so early. For the price of a Holiday Inn in the United States (no exaggeration) you can stay in paradise!! Do it - you won't regret it! (And be sure to order "La Kathy" an off menu at my request Limonata with Maracuya - soooo yummy.

Beautiful, quiet & eco-friendly complex in the middle of the national park. Mayar ruins accessible by bike, e-shuttles or on foot

It is a beautiful, quiet complex very close to the Mayan site. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Amazing!

My first trip to Mexico was an incredible experience, and staying here made it even more special. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The location is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is truly outstanding. Every member of the team made us feel welcome and well taken care of.
I want to give a very special thank you to Juan and Jorge. They are simply amazing and truly the highlight of our stay. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm made every day better. During our beach days at Pocna, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. They always greeted us with a smile and made us feel like valued guests rather than just visitors.
It’s rare to meet people who make such a positive impact on your vacation, but Juan and Jorge absolutely did. They made our stay unforgettable.
This was my first time in Mexico, but it definitely won’t be my last. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional service, a beautiful setting, and a truly memorable experience.

Paradise at a small resort with friendly staff

This place is great! Beautiful beach, and amazing daily sunrise yoga with Brenda. I also stayed here in December 2025 and couldn’t wait to return.
The rooms are clean, large and comfortable, with no TVs, so you can truly unplug and relax. I love the hammocks on the lanais of the beachside bungalows. WiFi is spotty away from the beach/ restaurants, so download your necessities. Everything is very conveniently located.
The restaurant staff remembered me (today was Gerardo, Gustavo and Victoria), and the front desk people as well. Edgar said “welcome home” when I checked in this time. I saw complaints about the food so thought I’d mention that you get to choose anything off the breakfast menu, and the portions are generous. You also get juice (typically melon or piña) and coffee. I’ll add pics.
The prices on Tulum Beach are like US prices- pretty high. You’re only a few miles from the town, grocery stores, and many restaurants, and some rent bicycle. Renting a car is cheap and convenient.
You can visit the ruins nearby, or walk the beach daily with very little attention/ disturbances from people selling things. I snorkeled one day (only 200 pesos if you walk down the beach to the locals), and though the reef isn’t very healthy, there were turtles, rays and some colorful fish! They also offer massages and facials on- site. Many couples visit here, and young families- mostly European.
I love Hotel Pocna, which is why I wrote such a long review!
