Excelent service
Very welcoming host. Clean room, comfortable bed and pillows. The hosts were lovely to chat to when we arrived. Supplied with fresh milk for tea and coffee in the rooms. Free wifi if you require it. Pleasant

This facility - bearing a pompous and misspelled name - has received the best reviews on Google Maps, outshining all the other lodgings (not that there would be many of them!) across northern Moldova. However, as I'm attempting to demonstrate below, this just might not be the case for everyone.
This is a mom-and-pop-operated place, with the extended family quarters upstairs, next to the guest rooms just down the hall. The hosts were pretty nice. Now, it's hard to guess how they'd have reacted had I checked-in in the dead of night. As a "rule", in RM and Ukraine they scowl and frown should you dare to wake them up. (In the good old Soviet hospitality tradition, it is not uncommon to find your host slumbering deeply after 12 AM.) It should go w/out saying that I'm not including here big guns, like Howard Johnson, Marriott, and such.
More often than not, it is she (not he) who checks you in, and this lady of the house leaves the impression of striving meritoriously to act in a professional manner. A red flag from the off (and a quick reminder that I was in RM): The POS terminal was, unsurprisingly, not working. To the locals, this shouldn't be a bother, as Moldova is and has been basically a cash based society. It may be, however, to those, like myself, who were charged almost 8 USD at the ATM machine nearby.
Next striking thing was the absence of the A/C at a time of year when outside temperatures were going up to the mid-30s. And they asked me to hand over the equivalent of 40 bucks for a sweltering room, with 2 barely open windows (set up so they couldn't be opened fully inward)! That just didn't seem right to me.
The room had a central heating system that was ill-fitted to keep the cold away in the fall and winter seasons. Instead of wood parquet or, better, carpeted floor, the room's floor was tiled with sandstone tiles. Two or three small rugs casually thrown on the floor give the impression of a hasty workaround. And the presence of two old-fashioned, small wall-mounted radiators served as evidence of a room heating system dating back to the late 1980s. Then the insulated panels were supposed to keep the street noise away, as down there was the town's bustling main thoroughfare. Well, they were not! Therefore, street noise might be a big hassle for some travelers, especially if they're there on the weekend, as I happened to be. By the way, there was a party going on in the public park across the road, with really loud music. It must have been some big shot's birthday; otherwise I can't figure how the whole park was rented out to a private party for a private event. The music faded around 3 AM. In a town with fewer than 7,000 people, where almost everyone knows mostly anyone, the very least the hotel owners could have done for me was to warn me about this event spilling well past midnight. But they didn't.
There was no toilet paper in the bathroom. I didn’t ask for any since I had my own roll in my luggage. There was no caddy in the shower booth, good to fit 14-year-olds rather than adults. To say that your movements within this booth were awkward would be an understatement. The showerhead was leaking and appeared to be the cheapest available on the market. The water was gushing profusely from the shower hose. The plumbing system was defective, as it took at least 10 minutes for the dirty water from the shower to completely drain away. Disgusting!
The furniture (especially the chair and table) was old and shabby, as if collected from a flea market.
In closing, I can't fathom why anyone would give a five-star review to this hotel, whose owners dare to charge competitive rates for subpar services.
