Outstanding guided hike and hospitality in the Atlas Mountains.

We visited Amlougui-House at the culmination of a hike, led by owner Ibrahim. This was an amazing day excursion from Marrakesh, that had been organised by the owners of the riad where we were staying. A private taxi took us from Marrakesh into the High Atlas mountains along the Ourika Valley, where we were met by Ibrahim at a drop-off point. He then led us on foot up the steep track to his home village of Amlougui - a journey of around one hour. Ibrahim was very knowledgeable about the area - its geography, environment, wildlife, culture and people - and explained so much in the most perfect English. He took us to Amlougui-House for a lunch that was prepared by his mother. What an excellent feast! Gorgeous nut, seed and salad starter, followed by a vegetable tagine and chicken tagine which was accompanied by lovely home baked bread, and washed down with sweet mint tea. Ibrahim then took us back down to our waiting taxi for the journey back to Marrakesh. This was a tremendous experience and we felt honoured to meet Ibrahim and his family.

Beautiful little house

Magnificent little house in the Ourika valley. The hosts are adorable. We ate delicious food and loved breakfast. The place is very quiet and the view is magnificent. There is everything you need in the accommodation.

Manifique!!

We are are just back from our trip to morocco - it was a great time! appart the busy life in marrakesh we spent a week with ibrahim in the amlougui house with cooking tipical pancakes, visiting the pre school, trip to setti fadma and its waterfall and last but not least a 4 days trip in the high atlas with 3 mules and tents. wow! ibrahim is a super guide, has always an open ear for questions in any kind, he has a good knowledge in nature, humour and a warm heart. one can feel his passion for his culture, the mountains and his village. the homestay in amlougui house was very colourful, comfortable (but without luxury), much more than we expected! all in all a super stay and a super sympatic host and family!! we can warmly recommend amlougui house! many, many thanks for all - we will come back!!! love bettina and uwe

Authentic Berber experience

Want to live like a local? We spent the day with Ibrahim in his house where we enjoyed a home cooked lunch and a short hike with Ibrahim. Ibrahim is a knowledge and friendly guy who has a lot to share. Highly recommend him as a professional guide and his guest house for a true Berber experience

A rare real gem for an authentic experience

A mix of authenticity with clean and comfortable rooms, amazing food and a wonderful host. Great and uncomplicated opportunities to dive into local habits and explore the surrounding nature for a short hike or longer trips.
