It’s 5 star in some respects but not others
It’s 5 star in some respects - but not others.
Absolutely fantastic views, lovely rooms and great pool area.
Starting to age a bit and rooms need a bit of a ‘sparkle’, some of restaurant service was poor (e.g. lamb dish on menu came as chicken, white wine not cold), golf cart driver had to be reluctantly dragged away from his phone with a tutt when asked to drive us up a steep hill etc.
Prices are 5 star though…

Room experience
"I am writing this review to advise future guests to specifically request a room in the new area of the hotel. The old area is in dire need of maintenance, cleaning, and renovation.
Key Issues in Old Section:
* Hygiene & Pests: The bathroom was unacceptable, with visible mold and fungus in the sink area. Even worse, we found remains of cockroaches in the bathroom. I personally informed the check in staff who didn’t show any interest about our complain, no apology received when I showed him the pictures I took (fungus/mold and cockroach pictures).
* Housekeeping: The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival, and coffee/tea amenities were not replenished during our stay. In one of the rooms we booked, the bedroom light spots were flickering which can give you a headache.
* Bed Configuration: The 'single' room consisted of two single beds pushed together, which made for a terrible sleep experience as the body kept sinking into the uncomfortable gap in the middle.
Positives:
* Breakfast staff are helpful and the location is convenient.
* The new area appears much better maintained, so if you book, ensure you are placed there.
Final Verdict: Do not accept a room in the old building. The maintenance issues are severe, and it is not worth the discomfort. If you cannot get a room in the new area, I would recommend looking elsewhere."

Magic in the Atlas Mountains

Beautiful but not quite a 5 star hotel
The hotel is impressive with nice view, large rooms and dining room. The staff at the dinning room are very friendly but those at the reception and the spa are rude. It is not a 5 stars hotel at all.
When I first arrived, the reception explained to me about the time and place for the breakfast, she was looking at the PC while talking to me!! So disappointed to be treated disrespectfully in Morocco. When I checked out, the guy was a little better but still no eye contact but he did ask if everything was good. But he never offered me to take my luggage down the stairs nor if I need any transportation.
One of the ladies in the spa said that "even I cannot explain to you what is the difference between the two kind of Thai massages. It is hard to explain, you have to choose one." I dont think anyone can make a decision if the service provider does not even know how to assist me to choose or try to understand my request.
Service is very important so that clients will come back or help to spread the word. It seems to me that not everyone has a heart to their job. It is a pity that such a nice resort to have missed the hospitality.

I had a wonderful stay at Widiane Resort. The welcome at the reception, especially by Rajaa, was exceptional: very helpful, smiling, and professional. The hotel is impeccable, with modern facilities and impeccable cleanliness. I highly recommend this establishment for a relaxing and pleasant stay.
