Positively Surprised

Absolutely fascinating hotel, and surprisingly cheap! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the walls painted in bright colors which give them a mystic and warm vibe. Also, the hallways are lined with really old pictures of Morocco from more than a hundred years ago. The building is a vintage gem and when you enter it you feel you are back in the 1920's. I must be recognized though that some of its former grandeur is slightly fading away and it has some issues, specially with the bathrooms, but the overall experience was extremely positive. The hotel is situated in an ideal spot, right in front the entrance of the Medina and a short walk away from the beach.

No cleanliness

Super dirty room. The sheets have not been changed, the floor is gross, the bathroom the same.
There are no towels or carpets in the bathroom.
The room is very humid, short to flee absolutely, lucky we only spent one night.

Worst I've been to

A group of 8 friends we went to this hotel for one night and I have to say that it's most probably the worst hotel I've ever been to.
It all started at the reception. The receptionist barely spoke some words in English. Then, we had reservation for 4 rooms of 2 people, but got instead 3 of 3 and 1 of 2, which isn't a problem, but seeing his English we were worried we would have to pay more for the bigger rooms.
The rooms weren't clean at all, bathroom horrible with the only window towards the bedroom. In some of the rooms the blankets were messy or had drops of blood on them. Furthermore, one of the rooms didn't have a heater. By the way, talking about heaters they could barely raise the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees in the rooms, so they were pretty much worthless. One of the guys in the team even had to grab some clothes during the night as it was too cold to sleep comfortably.
The general impression of the hotel was more of a ghost house from a horror movie than a real hotel which would make you feel safe and enjoy your stay.

Dirty and unsafe

I have been in this place, I had spend one night I didn’t realease how dirty and full of mould everywhere! The person was in the reception him couldn’t speak any English so even I couldn’t comunicate with him, the sheet of the bed where dirty the room smell , really disgusting because of the mould, the worst thing happened to me someone from the staff had stolen £150 pound from my wallet ,when I went for dinner I realised the money missing next day , when obviously I change the hotel, I come back to them to tell the situation, the person in the reception wasn’t helpful at all him just told me to call the police, this hotel Sahara in Essaouira make me sick..
