The hostel would not be... without NADIA
NADIA (at reception) is absolutely wonderful, smiling, welcoming, caring.... She constantly cares about the well-being and satisfaction of customers as well as the smooth running of the hostel. She deserves to assume full responsibility for the management in place of Miloud. I associate with NADIA, YOUNES and NAIMA, absolutely formidable, all 3. Zacharia, is not in his place, (he is not professional, gives the impression of not giving a damn, that his work doesn't interest him!) he's an immature kid, he's there to pick up girls, but absolutely not for work.
Installation side: there is a large terrace with tables and chairs, a small kitchen area and a fridge. A large patio around which the dormitory rooms are distributed.
Overall: Outdated facility, Opposite the medina ramparts and very close to the access gate, The hostel is very well located and very clean. Possibility of leaving your luggage at the time of check out for free.
Disadvantages: No electrical outlets, no lighting point, no blackout curtains at bed level. There are only 2 sockets at the entrance to the room to charge your devices. So far from his bed. There are no individual lockers in the rooms. But (as specified at reception): possibility of leaving accessories at reception.
Lots of encounters, good and not so good. Many customers really lack civility and respect. They smoke cannabis or drink alcohol and disturb other customers.
Is this normal? Where is the respect, do these people think they can do anything outside their borders? There's no point in pointing this out to the staff, they don't react.
Too bad the staff tolerates this kind of thing. In this way, do they not encourage consumer tourism? Or is heart, compassion, money the only thing that really matters in Miloud?
Next month (February 4, 2024) he is expecting a large group.
For this group, he incurred a lot of expenses, replaced mirrors that were useless, installed new hand showers in the showers, replaced all the covers on the patio, installed a mirror in the women's dormitory, replaced the tablecloths on all the tables buy an oven for the kitchen...
I have known this hostel for almost 7 years, no fees, just repair when there really is no choice!!
What does this group mean to him to deserve all this. For others (us), there are no costs.
Individual notes
Nadia: 8/10 Smiling, welcoming,...
Youness: 6/10 Wonderful, very professional, ...
Naima: 8/10 Smiling, friendly,...
Zacharia: 1/10 Not professional at all, doesn't do your job the way it's supposed to,...
Miloud: 0/10 No empathy, no compassion, MONEY is his only motivation!!!

Basic, but pleasant low-budget accommodation
Facilities are basic, but all worked well (hot showers, WiFi, kitchen to make tea or coffee). The courtyard with garden is pleasant (quiet most of the time). Staff is friendly and respectful. The place is kept clean. Major drawback: bedsheets and pillow case are not part of the standard. You can not sit upright on the lower bunk beds.
