Meh.

Average hotel and a bit worn out.
Could use a good renovation to be a bit better: sheets and mosquito nets with holes, room not very well soundproofed, and above all, far from the city center: 15-20 mins on foot, so it is difficult to get to the restaurant in the evening without a car.

Okay place, shame about some staff

The actual inn itself is fine insofar as it has an onsite restaurant, bar, and the rooms are clean. However I wouldn't stay here if you want to be closer to town as it is far away. I also wouldn't stay here if you like to sleep. They play music throughout the night which can keep you up. I ended up leaving early because I wasn't able to sleep due to the music, and when I asked if any refund was possible, the management staff Raymond was rude, accusatory, and told me not to call again. So disappointed with how the entire transaction had gone, even if they had said nothing was possible that would have been fine, but Raymond escalated the situation on the phone and via email to a horrible place

Thank you for your review. First of all, you went to bed at 18hrs when it became dark and started to complain at 19.30hrs. We turned the music off for you even though our restaurant is open till 22hrs... and yes we play music. We are called MozamBEAT and our rooms are named after musicians so there is a little give away that we do like music. You did not ask anything on the last day but checked out because you wanted to be closer as you are scared in the dark, fair enough. 3 weeks later you call to ask for a refund...

Fun place to stay, but not the best location

Mozambeat Motel is definitely a fun place to stay if you are here with a group of friends or if you are here during high season (which tends to be April, August and December). It has an ideal set up for meeting new people, having a few drinks, and having fun. Highlights of staying here would most definitely be the rooms, which are clean, spacious and some of them have air con which was an absolute luxury as not many places do! The food for lunch and dinner is delicious, and the staff are friendly and kind - shoutout to Raphael who was fantastic whilst I was there!
The biggest downside is the location - it's a 15-20minute walk outside of town along unlit and sometimes sandy backstreets. As a female solo traveller I didn't feel comfortable walking these roads alone at night, so I could never hang around in town past sundown (it was very Cinderella-esque). The pool isn't as big as it's made out to be in the picture (probably not a huge surprise) and music could sometimes play until late, so if you're staying close to the common area it could keep you up at night.
