I visited the hotel at the end of my holiday in Mozambique. In particular the front door team were welcoming and helpful
Apart from the helpful staff the rooms are clean and the pool area is excellent.

Holidays 2023
days. Excellent location in Maputo. Fantastic and exceptional staff to help and provide the best stay. Very good meals and breakfast. Some of the rooms need urgent renovation, but overall very pleasant and with a good size.
It has private parking and security.
Returning soon, certainly.

Good , the bad & the ugly
The bad- well everything was bad. On entrance the receptionists were quite pleasant and easy to check in. The porter carried in one of six cases, then put his hand out and said” u give me tip now”. To which we said “ no” we had no change. The look that could kill was given. There were no towels or toilet roll. We were offered brown rough paper. The towels were offered had insects on and so rough you could sand paper the wood. The tap was loose on the sink, which didn’t drain. Massive-cockroach on the bathroom floor. The room had padded plastic walls and suspect dirty sheet. Black covers which made it look like a porn star set or a brothel lol. The kitchen staff were so loud morning and evening. We slept in our clothes. X1 teabag, x1 bottle of water. Filthy floor. No window. Fridge freezer in second room. Tv didn’t work . Air-con didn’t work. Black nylon cover over a settee which we didn’t look at.
Food cost over £ 50 for three pieces of chicken. They add for water, rice, bread, pepper sauce. Don’t ask for anything that is usually proved in decent restaurants & that u have to pay for. Front of hotel looks nice. But inside awful. Pool full of flies and in middle of grotty complex.
The bad - The whole experience has scarred us for life!!!!

"Not a 4 Star Hotel"
The check-in staff was about the only person that understood English and was able to converse at a basic level at least. Although booking a Garden View room we were given street view rooms which was not the end of the world, however, the rooms in that wing of the hotel had this terrible smell as if a sewerage pipe had burst inside the room.
Add sweltering 38-degree Celcius temperatures in 100% humidity, with an aircon that isn't working properly, you have a horror show of note! Besides the aircon on the fritz the fridge was not working, there were no toiletries in the room nor any mosquito net as proclaimed.
It rained continuously for about 8 hours which caused rapid flooding of my room, luckily it was the following suckers problem as I checked out that morning. The garden area around the pool is nice but honestly, the whole place feels like it's falling apart and is being held together by some miracle.
The food was overpriced and average at best and I would advise that you settle all bills before going to sleep as the night staff added additional tips and items to our room bill that we could not dispute as there was no one to argue the other side of the story.
The staff although not very attentive and could not understand nor speak English properly, really did try their best to attend to our needs when they checked if we were ok, so I cannot criticize too much in that department.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel to the business traveller or a couple looking for a romantic retreat as you will be disappointed and share the same views and experiences we did.
