Good hotel, although you can't call this a resort
Big plus is the closed parking. This immediately made us feel safe on arrival.
Cons: the general atmosphere is just a little less "resort-like" than the name suggests (no extensive gardens or multiple pools). But for the location, the view, the food and that safe parking it is a very solid choice.

Beautiful hotel - polluted beach
If you’re not planning to spend time on the beach, this could be a great place to stay. At first glance, the beach appears wide and beautiful—but that impression quickly faded once we took a walk. During a short stroll, I came across several dead, decaying seals (I counted six before turning back), numerous open clam shells, and an unpleasant odor. There was also a noticeable red tinge in the sand where the water met the shore.
Concerned, I did some reading about Walvis Bay and learned that, due to the high volume of ships and nearby oil activity, there have been reports of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and mercury found in the sand. While sources state that it is considered “safe” for visitors, I personally would not feel comfortable letting young children play there.
Before exploring the beach, I could easily have imagined living in a place like this. Unfortunately, that experience changed my perspective. I suspect the beach may be cleaned more thoroughly during high season, but it’s disappointing that such a potentially stunning stretch of coastline is affected in this way.
Although this rating is meant to reflect the hotel, it was specifically the oceanfront setting that drew us here—so the beach experience inevitably shaped our overall impression.
