A discovery

The charm of being able to stay in a renovated building that maintains the original essence of the constructions of the city. Fair rooms sized just like the bed, but super comfortable. Charming staff and absolutely recommend the food they serve in their small restaurant on an inner patio... any of the traditional dishes....exquisite. Yogurt and assorted momos, our favorites on the menu. A discovery.

Pure happiness

Very friendly welcome.
Former home transformed into a hostel and school for training young people, with some imperfections that are quickly forgotten.
Very close to the center to visit the old town, very quiet, clean.
I had all my meals. The exceptional salad sauce, overcooked pasta, I explained the term Al denté for the next customers.
And French fruit toast a wonder

It means a lot to us that you noticed our efforts to create a welcoming space for both guests and young trainees.

Hotel school in Baktapur

The idea is magnificent, a hotel-school in a small restored monastery that provides job insertion to young people in the area, with a one-year training in hospitality. The staff they serve is truly friendly and the hotel, while simple, has enough to spend a couple of nights, including a restaurant where they serve breakfast or dinner. There are several types of rooms. The cheapest one doesn't have its own bathroom. I selected one with private bathroom and a bed. Very small, with small size to leave luggage, but enough for one or two people. Shower with hot water, although there may be some spot cutting. The stairs are steep and typical of this type of construction (important to consider if you have any mobility problems). Being an area that most tourists visit for the day, it can be a little harder to find taxis, although the staff gladly helps you use InDrive (an Uber-like app). Widely spread area like all those of the city, although quieter than Kathmandu, but perfectly safe. Overall, an interesting option for anyone who wants simple accommodation in Bhaktapur and support this project.

Dear Azar0,
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of your stay at Manju Baha. We are truly happy to know that you appreciated the concept of our hotel-school and its mission to provide hospitality training and employment opportunities to young people from the local community.
We also sincerely appreciate your honest and balanced feedback regarding the rooms, facilities, and the historical nature of the building. As a restored small monastery, we aim to preserve its original character, including the steep staircases, and your notes are very helpful for future guests to make informed decisions.
It is great to hear that you found our staff genuinely kind and that the restaurant, breakfast service, and assistance with transportation via InDrive contributed positively to your experience. Supporting our guests in every possible way is something our team truly enjoys.
Thank you once again for choosing Manju Baha and for supporting this meaningful project. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Bhaktapur in the future.
Warm regards,
Samir

Cozy historical stay

Manju Baha was an excellent place to say right in the heart of Bhaktapur. It felt like staying in a slice if history and was a central walk to all the major sites. Our room was very basic but it makes sense for the price and it was very clean. The staff were incredibly kind and looked after us so well. Thank you so much - if we every come to Bhaktapur again we will absolutely be staying here again.
