Amazing stay
I stayed at Elbrus Home before and after my trek in Nepal. It was such a great accommodation and the owner is so friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast included was fantastic! Would 100% recommend staying here!

Khem and the rest of the staff at Elbrus Home made this a great stay. I stayed for one night in November before my trek in the Khumbu, and 3 nights in December after I got back to KTM. The beds were comfortable, the rooms I had were on the 4th floor with an incredible view of the city. This hotel is located just north of Thamel, and I honestly enjoyed the short walk and being a little bit out of the super touristy area. It is on a Main Street, but honestly the traffic never bothered me. They were able to organize my taxi to the bus station before my trek, my taxi to the airport at the end of my trip, held some gear for me that I didn’t need on my trek at no extra charge, and recommended a great pharmacy, all no sweat. Their taxi driver is also a really nice guy. They offer laundry services with great turnaround, and a very solid breakfast was included with the cost. Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Great price for an amazing stay.

Wonderful experience at Elbrus Home
My second time visiting Elbrus Home in Kathmandu and Kim doesn’t disappoint once again :) my first visit was 2020, second 2025.
The free breakfast is lovely and well received, Kim is always super friendly and his staff. The shower was the best I had in Nepal, warm and great pressure! Lovely garden and a clean and well kept home. Thank you so much

Oasis in Thamel
We stayed here before and after a trekking trip and were very happy with our stay! It's a really lovely spot with attentive owner and staff. The owner offered to arrange a guide for our trek but gave us no trouble when we said it was out of our budget. Instead he arranged a ride to the airport for our early flight which came right on time. We stored 2 bags during our trek for no charge. The laundry service after our trek was also super convenient.
The rooftop and balconies on both buildings are huge and covered with plants and patio furniture, and the views of Thamel and the mountains are nice from the top. The courtyard is a lovely space filled with fruit trees and lots of birds.
The rooms, bathrooms, and linens are clean, and the showers are nice and hot. Wifi could be a bit finicky at times but this seems to be pretty standard in Nepal. The best part is the breakfast, served in the courtyard: coffee or tea, mango juice, banana, toast with butter/jam/honey, and eggs cooked to order as soon as you come downstairs.

Home-based for time in Nepal
Elbrus Home has a friendly and efficient staff. They provide fast and convenient laundry service, and a fabulous breakfast. The water is hot and the pressure is good. I had a room with a double bed and an en suite bathroom with shower. It was perfect for convenience and privacy. The hotel is located centrally to Thamel, with a lot of shops, food sellers, and conveniences very close-at-hand. It's quite easy to get a cab or bus right outside the front door. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this is not it, but everything else is absolutely wonderful. And the place is quite secure. As a female traveling solo, I strongly recommend Elbrus Home. I can't say enough good about the owner Kim and his attentive staff. Additionally, I was able to book a 13-day tour through Kim's brother Prakesh, who made the entire process easy and exciting. As an added bonus, they let me save an unused night from my 8-day reservation for my return to Kathmandu after my tour (i.e., they did not charge me for a ninth night). They truly want to support positive experiences for international travelers.
