Please avoid this hotel. This is a mafia gang
After starting the car on 23rd morning the driver named Sanjoy did not take highway and instead drove through remote areas. After a couple of hours Sanjoy took us to a remote and hilly area while coming to Birgunj. He stopped the car and demanded that one small AC vent clip is broken and demanded INR 100,000 as compensation without any provocation from our side and threatened with dire consequences if I don't pay. He claimed vehemently that I have broken the same whereas we didn't even touch that thing. I sincerely believe that he is a goon who is normally hired by the hotel owner to do such stuff. He even called up the owner of the hotel Mr. Himal Shrestha. He fully agreed with the driver and finally made me commit to pay INR 20,000. Without the payments they threatened to drop me with my family (with 4 senior citizens of more than 70 years old and one small kid of 4 years old) in that hilly remote area. The driver, Sanjoy abused my wife and my father who is 83 years old with foul language and threatened with consequences. Sanjoy physically pushed my uncle, a person of age 73 who fell down because of the push. We almost felt like that we may be shot or knived if we don't agree to pay. Under that circumstances to save my family I had to agree to their demand.
We came down to Birgunj and the driver took us to hotel Vishwua in Birgunj, which may be part of the same network, and made me swipe my credit card for INR 20,000.
I would have made a FIR by going to Birgunj police station. However, I was scared and could not gather enough courage to do so in anticipation of backlash from Mr. Himal's people.
I did drop an email to nepal tourist police explaining the incident but of course did not get much of help.
Please avoid this hotel at all cost if you do not want to have a horrible trip.
