Best place to spend a night !!
Near to the city and public transport, friendly staff, clean and calm rooms, good breakfast... Everything was well.The hotel is clean as well as rooms and restaurants. Although in the center, it is very silent Service is perfect. Breakfast is good with large variety.

Disappointing experience
I booked the room for 4 days. The first two nights I experienced a loud barking dog right near my room. It came from a neighboring yard. It kept me awake at night and woke me up at 1, 2, and 4 a.m. I told the owner about the dog the next day and he said nothing could be done about that. The room was also very cold and uncomfortable. There was a space heater in the room but it could not keep up with the cold temps outside overnight. The bathroom sink had only a cold water faucet. The shower did have hot water. After the first night I decided to give it one more night to see if any improvement would be make. After the second night I told them I was leaving the hotel to find a more comfortable place. Told them there were a few reasons but the two major ones were the barking dog and the cold room. He offered to move me to a room directly above mine but the same issues exist there. I told them that I would let them decide if they wanted to refund me anything for the 2 days I did not stay there. They told me they could not do a refund and said I had to go to Hotels.com. I told them I have not had success getting refunds from them and I am traveling long term in SE Asia and don't have the time or means to pursue this with them. I told them any refund would have to come from them. No refund was given.

Fantastic stay at Sunny Hotel
I stayed at Sunny hotel whilst doing Yoga teacher training with Mandala Studio. I loved my stay at Sunny. Ramesh and the staff were all so kind and always able to help with anything we needed. The room was clean and comfortable with a good heater. The hotel staff cooked for us as part of the training package, and the food was always healthy and tasty. I recommend this hotel to anybody looking for affordable accommodation with a lovely vibe. Thanks again Sunny!

Nice people, nice place, nice location
I stayed in Kathmandu Sunny Hotel for close to a month.
The staff is friendly, helpful and kind, ready to accomodate any specific request.
The hotel is situated in a quiet location, not even a 5 mns walk to Thamel.
The rooms are clean. The wifi is excellent. The rooftop terrace bathes in sun.
I recommend and will return.

Sunny Hotel Kathmandu is a family run business, And you feel part of the family. Everyone is helpful and welcoming.
Exceptional value for a 2 star hotel. Rooms are clean, hot water, filtered water available in the lobby, air conditioning, great WiFi throughout, with breakfast included in the price. Although located in the busy Pankjol, Thamel district, it is off on a side street and is quiet.
Indira, one of the owners, has given us advice on where to go, what things should cost...... the entire family and staff makes you feel at home. Indira also runs a trekking agency and has organized the Manaslu trek for us. Our guide came in specially to meet us, despite it being the most important holiday, D’Shain, in Nepal. We head out in 2 days.
Highly recommend this hotel.
