Best place to stay in Nepal

This is one of the nicest and friendliest bookings I’ve ever had. They really treated me like family. Fed me lunch and breakfast for free and brought me around town and gave good recommendations on things to do and places to see. I really enjoyed my time here at this homestay and it’s really cheap

I can’t be grateful enough!

I stayed at Peace Homestay in September 2024. I was always treated with a good breakfast (that I enjoyed eating on the balcony with a beautiful mountains view) and a fantastic dinner - Nir’s wife meals are better than any meals I have tried in Kathmandu restaurants. The room was clean with a fresh bedding and with everything needed for a short stay. A huge benefit was hot water 24/7 and a clear air around the area in comparison to Thamel or other central places (where the high level of dust not only makes it hard to breathe, but also an obstacle to the vision!) It takes about half an hour to walk to Thamel or 3 USD in a taxi that is not a price for living in a clean air place.
Also, Nir was very helpful with any issues and questions. I went for 3 days hiking with Nir and, when I got tired, he didn’t even need to be asked, he just took my backpack and carried it! Nir knows hiking/trekking routes very well, and the places he showed me were fantastic, especially staying in a Buddhist monastery guest house and having meals together with monks was quite remarkable. When I went to Mt Kailash kora from Nir’s place, he kept my luggage in his storage at no cost. Then, when I came back one day earlier, when all rooms at Nir’s place were occupied, Nir offered me to stay in his office at no charge…Nir and his family do look after their guests like after family members. I can’t be grateful enough to Nir and his wife. I will always stay at their place when I’m back to Kathmandu.
