Great hotel, friendly staff, spacious clean rooms

Great hotel for a nice price.
It was good to stay in Amersfoort: friendly staff, the room was wonderfully spacious, the bathroom is large, lovely shower, the beds are good. Nothing to complain about. I was positively surprised actually. Look, you don't come there for the environment and/or for luxury dining but the hotel itself is really not wrong. I will definitely be back here.

Denied check-in

Unfortunately we arrived there and were not allowed to pour because I was 17 years old and my friend was 18. While the website says it's allowed and there must be an adult. You can also just click on that you want to choose someone of 17 and 18 as your age and no error message will be given, also during checkout the conditions are not shown and no notification that it could not be. It's ridiculous that it's so indicated and on the website it is. Watch out when you book.

Terrible customer service and dangerous fixture in the room

My name is Jeremy Casdagli and I have just stayed 3 nights ( 24-27th June ) in hotel : Bastion Hotel Amersfoort BV . On the last morning the end piece of the stone table that holds up the sink in the bathroom broke off and smashed my iPad that was sitting on top of the the piece that broke off. It narrowly missed my foot that could have been badly hurt . see pictures attached . I went to see the reception about this and the receptionist told me that this has actually been happening regularly at this hotel as when the table end pieces were applied it was very cold and the glue holding them is fragile !!
This is incredibly dangerous as these pieces are very heavy as well as sharp edged. I am surprised that the hotel has not fixed this problem and has let guests like me into rooms which have this danger . Initially the Hotel manager offered me compensation. Once I purchased a new ipad and sent the hotel the invoice they ceased all communication with me .

Poor

Waiting 2 hours for food, fire alarm was constantly going off, servers were very dismissive. Absolutely awful location nothing around. Do not recommend this place

A perfect overnight stay

Upon arrival, we parked in the hotel's fenced car park; the spaces were spacious and secure. The reception staff were efficient and friendly. The room was very spacious, with beds over 2 meters long and 1 meter wide—perfect. The mattresses were good, though a bit too soft for our liking—but that is a matter of personal preference. The room featured tea and coffee facilities, a large flat-screen TV, bedside lamps and power outlets, and a comfortable chair. The windows were quadruple-glazed, effectively blocking out all external noise. The air conditioning worked perfectly and was virtually silent—very comfortable, with it being 35°C outside and 22°C inside! The bathroom was spacious, bright, and—like the room itself—spotlessly clean. We had breakfast at 6:00 AM; it was excellent and extensive, featuring freshly cooked eggs or scrambled eggs with sausages and crispy bacon upon request. There was also lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and a wide selection of savory cold cuts and cheeses, as well as jams, peanut butter, and Nutella. Butter and margarine, two types of yogurt, fresh fruit, and various hot and cold drinks were also available. A perfect start to the day. Checking out was also a very friendly and efficient process. A lovely hotel that we would happily return to in the future!
