Great location, very close to tram stops. The hotel isn't great, but it does its own. Clean enough rooms and courteous staff.

Worst experience ever in a hotel

Rats eating my snacks, hole in the mattress, and no compensation offered by the hotel. Stay away from here

Booking confirmed - then simply cancelled

I booked a stay at Belfort Hotel Amsterdam for two nights in May in advance and paid in full to have planning security and benefit from cheaper rates.
About a month before the planned stay, however, my booking was cancelled by the hotel. Although the amount paid was refunded, no alternative was offered or assistance was provided in finding replacement accommodation.
This is particularly problematic, as at this point in time the prices of hotels in Amsterdam have risen considerably, which means that I now incur significantly higher costs.
I find it extremely disappointing that a confirmed and paid booking is cancelled at such short notice without any real solution or accommodation from the hotel. For travelers, this means significant stress and additional financial burden.
I would advise guests not to rely on this booking.
For this reason I can not recommend the hotel.

Refurbishment

Hotel needs a good refurbishment to the rooms and outside. We had water marks and other odd looking stains on the walls throughout the room. Shower room was built poorly, the shower door was far too small and water ended up on the floors and we had to use our towels to help clear this up after each shower. There was a boarded up hole above the shower head, however this did not cause issue with the shower, just off putting to see. The bed was okay if you was staying for a night or just needed a few hours sleep. Plugs are right at your head on the bed, was concerning as this can be a potential fire hazard.
Decking outside of the hotel was so dangerous, holes, broken ends, loose boards. I personally would not stay again here.

Scarily unhygienic

I found the bathroom handle completely off and not screwed in properly, no AC, a bathroom light permanently on and lots of brown stains on the towels provided.
