Great Location, Nice and Clean

Cute little hotel. Its located in a great location along the canal, walking distance to lots of places. We were on one of the top floors. The rooms are very spacious. We didn't really have a view, could only see rooftops. It was very quiet. They have an elevator but only to the 2nd floor on our side.(There is 2 buildings) we had to walk up 2 tight flights of stairs to our room. If you have mobility issues you might want to clarify with the hotel beforehand. There is a large step up into the tub to shower as well. It did rain while we were there and the hotel provided umbrellas which was great. We did not book the breakfast package. It was 22€ each for breakfast. Seemed a little pricey. We chose to walk around to find a place. It seems the city is limited for early risers, but you can find places.
The room attendants seemed to be on a later time schedule to attend to the rooms. We got back to the room around 2:45 and they still had been to the room. They knocked at 3:30. We didn't really need it done, so we passed.

The hotel is perfect location. The staff is so friendly and kind. The hotel is a landmark hotel and great experience

Dikker and Thijs Hotel stay

The view was great but there was very limited bell service. We had to carry our heavy luggage down several steps which was not so easy. If we go to Amsterdam again, I would stay somewhere with more services to guests.

Lovely large room, clean, comfy bed. The bathroom was a good size unfortunately the shower rose mechanism kept on collapsing so had to be held up manually. It was reported as requiring maintenance but the attempt made by the handyman was pathetic and didn't work. This was advised to the front desk on the way out. Good luck to the next people in the room.
The location is absolutely fabulous although the noise of the light rail trams passing by is a little annoying until you get used to it, BUT Location, location, location.
