Very comfortable hotel in the center.

Strategically located hotel, we were waiting for check in around 11 pm, room found every day always tidy and clean, warm, and spacious.
There is no lift and the stairs are a bit narrow, in the dining room there is a vending machine for snacks and cold water/drinks.
A 30-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station ( trains ) and only 2 metro stops ( 15 minutes total ) - M waterlooplein -
Also convenient for visiting Van Gogh museums and the Heineken Experience.
There are also many bars and restaurants nearby, including Japan and fast food, even an Albert Hejin (supermarket chain).
I recommend it to visit the city!

To flee

For our arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by a very kind lady, who even offered us help with luggage. At the time, we didn't understand why... until we discovered the spiral mini-staircases up to the 5th floor, no elevator. Even before we went upstairs, hotel guests warned us, saying: "The hotel is bad"... which was unfortunately not wrong. After the test of the stairs, we discover a tiny and very narrow room. The bathroom is poorly designed: no protection for water, which floods the entire room after a shower. The TV did not work, the room is very poorly soundproofed (piping extremely noisy), and the store does not block the morning light. The lamps are placed right at the head level, which is very unpleasant. There is not enough room to open your luggage storage, without storage, and no socket near the bed. The only positive is the good location of the hotel. On the other hand, the price is totally unjustified: 475 € for two nights for a room of this quality, it is simply excessive. Very disappointing, we do not recommend.

If you want to do yourself a favour, book another hotel.

There are so many hotels in Amsterdam, if you want to do yourself a favour, book another hotel
I stayed here often many years ago and was always satisfied. The rooms were always small, but everything was clean, the hotel was in good shape and the service was friendly and highly customer-oriented.
There is now a new (very unfriendly, not guest-oriented) owner.
The hotel is no longer in good shape, the public toilet could not be locked and was full of water (at least I hope it was only water...), cupboard doors containing cleaning products are left open, cleaning products are left in the corridors, dirty bed linen is left in the corridors, and the rooms are worn out.
The girl at the reception was friendly, but this wasn't enough to rate the hotel higher.
Pity, because the location is excellent (close to the city, but quite), but due to my last experience in this hotel, I won't return.
I 've extended my stay in Amsterdam in another hotel, and although it also wasn't a 5* hotel, everything was well maintained, very clean, and all employees extremely friendly and customer oriented.
Well, as it should be in a hotel.

Nice staff willing to help you out with information. Property was really good, nice patio in the back! Room with nice big windows that open and the bed was really comfortable!
