Comfortable stay in a great neighborhood!

This was a phenomenal hotel! Reasonable price, not in the hustle of the city center but VERY accessible with public transit. Staff is helpful and rooms very clean. Will happily stay here again.

Shocking

Absolutely shocking experience.
We arrived and it immediately looked like the rooms hadn’t been cleaned at all — especially the bathroom (photos attached). The shower was covered in limescale and the floors were visibly mouldy, like they hadn’t been properly cleaned in months.
We raised it with reception and were shown two more rooms… both with exactly the same issue. The excuse given was that “half the housekeeping team are off sick,” which frankly isn’t acceptable — if anything, that should mean fewer rooms sold, not lower standards. Also, limescale and mould build-up comes from months of not cleaning. It’s clear they don’t clean their bathrooms properly.
They then attempted to show us a fourth room, but by that point I declined and requested a refund.
The girl at reception was polite and clearly embarrassed — she handled things as well as she could. However, the male manager was dismissive and defensive from the start. His response was essentially “we’ve had no other complaints today,” which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. He even claimed to have checked the rooms himself beforehand, which makes the situation even worse if that’s the level they consider acceptable.
There was no real apology from him — just a reluctant refund, which he made a point of saying was “against policy,” followed by “hope you find another room.”
We ended up booking elsewhere for the same price and had a completely different (and much better) experience.
Really disappointing — not just the cleanliness, but the attitude and lack of accountability.

Extremely disappointing experience and total lack of consideration.

I had, however, stayed at this hotel for three nights with friends before this incident, but the establishment's behavior deeply disappointed me. Following the sudden death of a loved one, I had to cut my trip to the Netherlands short in order to return to Switzerland to attend the funeral. I never asked for a refund: I simply asked, several days in advance, to move my Friday to Saturday night to Sunday to Monday, because I had to stay in Amsterdam before my morning flight.
What makes this situation even more incomprehensible is that the Sunday to Monday night was available on Booking.com and listed at a rate almost half of what I had already paid for the Friday to Saturday night. I never asked for the difference to be refunded, nor for any financial gesture: I was simply asking for a room to be able to sleep before my return to Switzerland for a painful family event.
Despite this, the hotel initially refused by hiding behind the "non-refundable" conditions. After several exchanges and a lot of wasted time, they finally proposed a solution: cancel the reservation and try to re-rent the room, with a possible future credit. I accepted in good faith, but I then received no news until the very day of my stay, leaving me without a solution and forcing me to find other accommodation in an emergency, which was inevitably more expensive.
The most shocking thing is not just the financial loss, but the total lack of flexibility and empathy. I understand the rate conditions, but in an exceptional situation, when I was not asking for a refund but only a date change, a minimum of consideration would have been expected.
After having enjoyed my previous nights at this hotel with my friends, I am leaving with a very bad impression and I will not return. This experience shows that an establishment is not judged only by its rooms, but above all by the way it treats its customers when a serious unforeseen event occurs.

Another Great Visit

Fourth time I've stayed here, visiting family nearby. Reception staff so welcoming, room cool and comfortable (and very clean). Relaxed bar area too. Sadly didn't have breakfast on this occasion due to early flight.

Trendy

Super nice trendy hotel and a quieter part of Amsterdam. Easily accessible by public transport, but without the urban hectic.
Nice clean rooms. And if you come by public transport, you get a discount on the room rate. This way you stimulate public transport use and at the same time you do something for our climate.

Very good location
