Great small hotel

Stayed here for 3 nights. The location is very good - metro and tram stations are in 5 mins walk distance. Jewish museum and Rembrandt museum are just around the corner.
The hotel is very nice and tidy. Elizabeth who meets you once arrived is a very friendly and intelligent woman, we loved her and her dog! The hotel has only 2 rooms and you can be sure you are treated as a wanted guest. Our room was big with a small garderobe room and kitchen. You don't need to worry about anything - spoons, plates, a kettle and a fridge - all are there. Our room had an individual exit to the terrace full of trees and flowers which was very nice. The bathroom is designed very well, it has all types of personal care things such cotton swabs, cotton pads. Normally you can find these things only in 5* hotels.
A special topic for breakfast: it was wonderful! Served in your room if you wish, great various of food. Different types of eggs, home made oatmeal, musli and corn flakes, yogurts, ham and bacon plate, cheese plate, various of breads, seasonal fruits salad - I wonder what can people wish more. The scrambled eggs were just amazing (with bacon, mushrooms and tomatoes).
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends, it's a great value of money and service. Thanks, Elizabeth! Hello from Istanbul.

Best ever

There can be nowhere in Amsterdam , or indeed in any major Europen city ,as good as Hotel Synopsis for Style,comfort,and charming hospitality. Very quiet location but near all the main sights,opera house,tram etc. Beautiful garden and breakfast, which was quite delicious,and which can be served outside in the summer. All the comforts of a five star hotel but in private and characterful surroundings. From a selfish point of view One can only hope that the possible threatened retirement of the proprietor ,Elisabeth, does not materialises but as a very grateful client if it does so we wish her every good fortune.

Luxury with a homely feel

Hotel Synopsis is in a great location, very central so you are able to walk everywhere. We had the garden room - although it was too wet to ever go out into the garden, we at least got to see greenery from the window. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in in the 7 weeks we were travelling in Europe. It was also a great luxury to be able to have a bath. Immaculately clean, good wifi, an absolutely delicious breakfast cooked by Elisabeth who is the kindest and most helpful of hosts, and plenty of wonderful touches in the room, including a sink area and a coffee machine. This place is a wonderful refuge for independent travellers, but don't come here if you expect your bags to be carried and to be able to issue orders to 'staff' - there are none. It's luxurious but homely at the same time. We loved it. Thanks Elisabeth.

Quietly brilliant

Great location by quiet canal, impressive use of space in exceptionally well-equipped and comfortable room, friendly and knowledgeable host, superb breakfast served in the cost kitchen, sure the garden is a real gem in the summer. Boutique B&B at its very best.

Just like home!

Words cannot describe the level of comfort, service and feeling of being 'at home' at this hotel! You feel like you are visiting distant relatives and they do their best to make you feel comfortable. The location, items in the room, service are of 5++ level! The owner is a lovely welcoming woman! We will not forget the breakfasts we had in the kitchen. We would stay here again given the chance!
