We will definitely be back
We have been in a Bergvliet villa twice in 2025. Both times we had number 12. This is centrally located in the park and when you open your curtains in the morning the rising sun shines towards you. The house was spacious and clean, room enough for 4 people. Two bathrooms, two toilets and two bedrooms. There was even a washer and dryer available, super convenient because we stayed a whole week. We could charge our electric car at one of the charging stations of the park. These are not fast chargers but enough to charge the car one night. From the park you can walk straight into the forest, there is also a beautiful walking route along the golf course. Nearby there are a huge number of forest walking opportunities. Nice mushroom spotting in the autumn. Choose the hiking houses or you will have a fight with one of the mountain bikers who have their own trails. We had our own bikes and 30 minutes by bike you are in the center of Breda. Shops, terrace and restaurants abound. By car you are also quickly in places like Oisterwijk, Den Bosch and Eindhoven. What we certainly don't skip when we visit Bergvliet is Spa One. A wonderful spa experience, especially the haman treatment is my favorite. The food at Spa One is also very tasty. We will definitely be back in 2026.

Scarce decor house and garden.

High expectation but not fulfilled.
Very unfriendly guard who walked around the park in the evening. First beautiful evening in ages and were ordered to sit inside at 10pm because our talking (just a conversation) was a nuisance. Literally said if I pass here again you'll be inside! While in the house next to us sat a group of very noisy young people who played loud music all day, played noisy beer games. Etc. Looked like we were in a youth campground. Totally no rest! House facing south but no umbrella available. 3-month-old baby couldn't be outside because of that. Asked for a parasol at reception and received an answer if the owner chooses not to take a parasol that is a pity but we can do nothing about it!
In the bedrooms the temperature at night was 25+ but no air conditioning. There are no cushions for the steel garden chairs. The fridge is table model and much too small for 8-person house. At night a lot of nuisance from moving cars. Youth coming home after going out. Check-in Friday from 4 am, departure Sunday at 10 am and that for 1,400 euros! All this indicated on departure at the reception was only said: will pass it on.
Absolutely not worth the price.

Not as high quality as expected
I had really looked forward to renting Bergvliet villa nr 36 between Dec 23 and 27 with a couple of friends and my partner + children. However, our stay was a bit disappointing. Here are a few positive and negative remarks which describe our stay:
Negative:
- upon arrival our oven did not function. The technical service brought a microwave oven, which would not work for cooking a Christmas dinner for 7 pers.
- no possibility of streaming (Netflix, Prime Video, Videoland etc) on to TV screen in living room. Only Dutch tv channels available
- very few power outlets in the house and none in bathrooms
- unpleasant rotting smell in one bathroom on first floor
Positive:
- SpaOne is an amazing, clean and a great sauna experience
- Villa nr 36 is large enough for 6-8 pers. Typical renting/a bit cheap
Interior but okay for a shorter stay
- Great that our dog was welcome and nice surroundings for walking our pet
- Receptionists Feline/Michelle did their best to find a solution to the defect oven. We were offered a tapas plate and a bottle of wine as compensation. Moreover, we were offered the possibility to move to another villa with a fully functioning oven. The compromise was to use the oven in another villa (nr 54) for cooking the Christmas dinner and to walk forth and back between the two villa’s. Definitely not ideal!
- we were offered a golf cart to transport the food between the villas.
- great that you can charge your electric car close to the villa’s
Bergvliet you can and should absolutely aim to do better!!!

Villa Birdie
In recent days we have rented a house at holiday park Bergvliet in Oosterhout. The house ( Birdie ) was complete and simply furnished but everything was there so that was top. We sat with our terrace at the front so there is less privacy and on that terrace is an outdoor fireplace, very cozy and atmospheric when it is on. However, on the outside of that fireplace were missing some stones so it did not look complete. We reported this to the reception and hopefully they will be repaired soon. But we have been most disturbed by the barking of the dogs that stay in Dierenpension Teraalst that is near the holiday park. Because the weather was lovely, we sat outside a lot but we heard the barking of various dogs constantly. If we come back again, we would like to sit on the other side of the park so that we can no longer hear the barking. Finally, we hope that in the future the time to check out can be a bit later because to have to be out of the house at 10.00 in the morning is very early for a house in this price range.
