Home Vibes in Amsterdam

I spent almost a month at Via, and it truly became my first (shared) home in Amsterdam.
First, because whenever I’m surrounded by graffiti, I immediately feel at home :-)
And second, because the international Via Team was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always helpful.
The hostel is huge, with plenty of spaces to play, socialize, relax, or work.
Rooms are minimal but spacious and comfortable, and prices are affordable (for Amsterdam standards).
There isn’t a full kitchen in the traditional sense, but there are microwaves, a kettle, and a fridge available, which makes it easy to manage simple meals without having to eat out all the time.
Even if it’s not in the city center, it’s very well connected by metro (around 15 minutes).
It’s a perfect place for families, big groups (like school trips, etc.), digital nomads, and also for people who want to enjoy the city but come back to a more relaxed area, surrounded by green spaces.
I’ll definitely come back, it felt like home.

Very cool place 😎 to be. Very large lobby and kitchen. Games, movies, and events for everyone, and comfy beds. Very nice staff, and a truly 24/7 reception.
The downside were the high bunks and the extremely high level of smoking in front of and around the building. Weeds, cigarettes, vapes, and all sorts of irritating smell every time you step outside the facility. I don’t know why they encourage this. It’s nauseating and I wouldn’t bring kids to this place.

Nuisance noise into the night

Live at the moment; Too bad 150 euros for an overnight stay and hotel room paid... it's midnight... don't sleep a wink. Guests of the hotel are standing directly under our hotel room in front of the entrance making a lot of noise including screaming and music, complained to the reception just now; I got earplugs!!!
Unfortunately, nuisance has not been resolved.

Staff at both the check-in desk and the onsite bar were great—friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was relatively clean, and housekeeping came in daily, which is fantastic. That said, I’d still recommend bringing slippers or slides, as that’s generally a good idea in shared spaces.
I stayed in a 4-bed dorm, which was fairly relaxed. The beds could be a bit creaky at times, so earplugs are definitely worth bringing. In terms of comfort, they’re basic foam mattresses with clean sheets and a decent blanket—nothing too fancy, but perfectly serviceable for a short stay.
There’s almost always something happening downstairs, which gives the place a lively atmosphere. It’s a great spot if you want to hang out in the lobby, get some work done, or meet new people!
I'd say it was certainly good value for me as a solo traveller, though YMMV of course.

Everything was perfect! Before I got to the hostel, I could fill in some details on my phone already so check-in would be quicker. After my short walk from Diemen Zuid, I arrived at the hostel where I could check in easily and quickly. I came for the Harry Styles concert and they turned their hostel into a Harry paradise; There was a Harry cutout, activities and they played Harry's music.
At first my key card didn't seem to work so I went back to the front desk and they helped me quickly. The room was very clean, the workers were friendly and helpful and check out was also fast. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely come back! :)
