What an Absolutly amazing place to stay! It was the best part of our trip. So relaxing, great food, accessible to everything! Would go back in a minute!

It was in a great, peaceful place on a canal. It was so peaceful and walking distance to everything. Easy bus ride into Amsterdam and Volendam/Marken. The Host and staff were very friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast was perfect to start the day. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful old buildings and rooms, beds are good. Expect bathrooms and showers to be nice, clean and fully functional but "original". Our girls attended a sportsevent the whole week and I did not hear anything about the showers, which is a good testament. Great service from the manager and the whole team. Very nice and cozy all you need breakfast, delicious apricot jam, very cute little bar with all you need, amazing garden and backyard along the canal. We parked bikes in the backyard. Great location for exploring both Edam and Volendam by bikes but also North Holland. Bike rental and cheese shops around the corner, short easy walk from bus station, 20 minutes from A'dam centraal.
We will absolutely come back.

Never Again.

What a big disappointment the De Fortuna Restaurant was.
We waited an hour for our simple meal to arrive, even though the restaurant was not at all full. None of the staff apologised for the delay or explained the reason for the long delay.
I was very disappointed with the service and would not recommend this restaurant to anybody.

With all due respect, but what a peculiar review. We had warned you that the waiting time might increase due to a group. You didn't find it a problem. In the end, you left angrily, while I was already standing there with your order in my hands. We checked your exact waiting time at the checkout. It turned out to be just over 25 minutes. That wasn't so bad, was it? Incidentally, you do not need to deny yourself access to our restaurant. You are most welcome.
