The room and showers were clean, friendly welcome and value for money good. Have been there for four days on a single room to view Groningen nice city ,definitely come there again.

They come in when you sleep
I booked 3 nights, the desk said check out Wednesday (last day) at 11 am. The first day the hostel owner and another stranger came into the room while I was sleeping. The door was locked, they opened it from the outside
I only knew because the key was pressed out of the lock. The guy from the desk kept laughing and pretending it was nothing, he thought it was funny and normal, a sorry or other excuse couldn't even come off until I specifically asked for it
Hii stressed that it was fine because I had a blanket left. He kept talking about how nobody saw anything, so he said I had nothing to complain about.
He kept laughing and pretending. It was nothing, I was acting, it was completely normal etc.
Meanwhile, I feel assaulted. I was sleeping naked next to the covers. And instead of closing the door again they let in another stranger, doing all kinds of things and watching me naked.
The desk guy said I was under the covers but I woke up with the covers on the floor. Easy for him to say when he has to glue the situation

Good for a short stay in Groningen
To access the room one needs to take some very steep stairs and there is no elevator.
