Booked by phone with dog, confirmed, and refused on arrival — hotel now distorts the facts in its response

I booked by phone and said very clearly that I was coming with a dog. The employee confirmed it and reserved the room. No reservations, no "watch the policy," nothing. After a long day of travelling I arrive and suddenly it is: dogs are not allowed.
The manager dared to call this "miscommunication" because the policy is on the website. Let that sink in: I call, I explicitly say I'm bringing a dog, the hotel reserves the room — and if they mishandle that, is it my fault for not reading their website? That's not miscommunication. That's a mistake on the part of the hotel that they blame bluntly on the guest.
And then the handling: zero responsibility, zero solution. No other room, no phone call to a hotel nearby, no attempt to rectify it. A guest who has booked in good faith is outside again in the evening with his dog, and all this hotel has to offer is an excuse that puts the blame on the customer.
On my earlier review, the hotel responded publicly with the claim that the manager offered to find me other accommodation and that I did not want to use it. That didn't happen. Nothing has been offered and no effort has been made to arrange anything. The only thing the manager had to say was that I was not welcome with my dog. The fact that the hotel claims an offer afterwards that was never made confirms exactly the pattern: its own mistake is not acknowledged, but rewritten.
This hotel presents itself as four-star. That's a joke. Four stars is about service, about keeping your commitments, about fixing your own mistakes — not about a sign on the facade. On all three, this hotel completely drops below the lower limit. Booked, confirmed, refused, sent away with an excuse, and then publicly distorted the facts. I advise anyone with a pet — and really anyone who wants to be able to rely on their reservation — against this hotel.

We begrijpen dat dit voor u teleurstellend is geweest, zeker na een lange reis en met uw hond.
Onze collega's hebben echter gehandeld volgens het geldende beleid, wat niet wegneemt dat dat voor u vervelend moet zijn geweest.
Onze manager heeft aangeboden naar een andere accommodatie voor u te zoeken echter wilde u hier geen gebruik van maken, het spijt ons dan ook dat we u niet verder hebben kunnen helpen.
Wij nemen deze situatie intern mee om te kijken hoe wij dergelijke misverstanden in de toekomst kunnen voorkomen.

Fine.

Due to business event this hotel found, reception friendly welcome, room clean but an extreme cleaning smell or heavy male perfume smell, not pleasant. Duvet top unfortunately with stains, but could happily sleep on the other side. Shower fine, only caulking edges full of mold. (Reported at check out, they were aware of this). Breakfast delicious, lots of choice and well stocked. Lady very friendly at breakfast.

Great place to stay!

This is a great hotel to stay at. It’s conveniently located near the highway, and a big plus is that the windows can actually be opened for fresh air. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with easy access throughout the hotel. There are plenty of fast-food options nearby, but the restaurant in the hotel itself is definitely the better choice.
All in all, a very pleasant stay so I highly recommended!

PHENOMENAL

Phenomenally modern Hotel. Staff super friendly and helpful. Room was top , my wife even took pictures to apply at home too. Bathroom (shower) was blissful.1 small minus is when you come from the toilet you have to go to the bathroom around the corner to wash your hands.
