We live this little gem.

We have family near by. Every visit we stay at the Sluiskop. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Cleaned daily. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. Everything we were looking for. It is nice to come back at night and enjoy a Heineken before bed.
The staff are all very friendly and a pleasure to speak with.
Look forward to our next visit.

Very Nice Family Owned Hotel

I learned from the very friendly owner that this hotel had been in her family for 70 years. Located in the quaint village of Pernis, this former fishing village is beautiful. Our room was located on the 2nd floor and an 18 step climb up a traditional Dutch staircase. The old fashioned key opened the door to a nice spacious room with beautiful windows overlooking the quiet street. The beds were very comfortable with nice duvets to keep us warm. The bathroom was compact but adequate, and the shower was strong and hot. Wifi was strong and there was even a kettle for our morning coffee, which we always enjoy. A nice breakfast buffet was served until 9. We only spent 1 night, and the amazing part was this: At check out, I asked the owner how to find the bus. We had 4 large pieces of luggage, but no car. She looked at our luggage and kindly offered to take us to the metro station which was over a kilometer away. I was blown away by the kindness of our hostess. We loaded up our luggage into her brother's van, and they took us in the van and a car to the station. I will never forget their kindness. I highly recommend this hotel for wonderful old-fashioned service and a very nice room as well.

Very good

The hotel is located at the center of the very cute town Pernis and the staff is very friendly and easy going. The welcome was naturally perfect and very friendly with lots of tips and informations. The hotel rooms are small but very clean and well decorated. The location is very quite and the restaurant offers good quality and you can look into the kitchen. A hotel which I can recommend at any time.

Nice Hotel in a Quiet Area of Rotterdam

The hotel is located in a nice area but it is a bit far from the center of Rotterdam, and there is very little around the hotel itself. You can use the metro to get into the center.We had a nice spacious room with a good size balcony and good toilet and shower. There is a restaurant which we didn't use and a bar, which seemed to be popular. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. At night we could hear music from outside but it wasn't too loud to keep us awake. We thought the value of the hotel was fine.

Don't bother booking if you want to actually sleep!

I am incredibly disappointed with this hotel. I would like to make a big point first however that I could not fault the staff in the restaurant and bar area, despite English not being their language they made lots of effort to talk to us and make us feel welcome, which is why I'm so disappointed the room was a massive let down.
We were in Rotterdam for a very special event that my boyfriend was taking part in, the ITU World Traithlon event. As it was one of the biggest days of his life and was getting up at 4am to get to the event site, he went to bed early to get the best rest possible. Well, at midnight we were both woken up by very loud music, the thumping beat was so loud the room was vibrating. My partner and I can normally sleep through most noises as we are heavy sleepers but this was ridiculous! My partner went downstairs to ask where the music was coming from to be told there was a nightclub directly below us!! Who on earth advertises a room directly above a club where there is absolutely no way you will be sleeping!! We were told the music stops at 2am! Brilliant! This resulted in a very stressed triathlete who had been training for this event for years! What a complete waste of money!
