Top stay 'sleeping in a wine barrel' with private wellness in Stavoren!

We had booked a wine barrel Royal. You sleep in the wine barrel and then there is a very extensive private wellness area with sunbathing sauna, infrared cabin, jacuzzi for 2 people, spacious shower with sunshower and a nice sitting area to relax. Bottle of wine was provided free of charge. In the room is also a small fridge. We had a great time at this hotel with friendly staff and a catered breakfast.

If you're not bothered by small things, it's fine

I would say that you can do this for one night, if you are not bothered by small things, but for longer stays it is not suitable, because there is also no wardrobe in the room to unpack your belongings.

Nice for once

Nice experience to sleep in a wellness wine barrel. The entrance through the first barrel, where there is also a small seat with 2 chairs table and TV is immediately cozy. Further into the modernized room the layout is also good. The sleeping space in the barrel is also nicely done, although the beds are a bit high. The wellness area with sauna bath and infrared shower is neat. Plenty of towels bathrobes and slippers. The hygiene of the bath leaves something to be desired, especially dirt around the jets. After using the facilities, the room smelled humid in the morning. The decking for the barrels and on the terrace was in desperate need of replacement. The breakfast was fine, wide choice in food and drinks. All in all a 3.5 rating

Disappointed

Were with 16 people .on arrival there was no more terrace in front of the hotel and we could also get nothing to drink everything was close bar kitchen because there were no staff . Also on the inner terrace you were not allowed to sit after twelve hours and we were literally sent away. The hotel is deteriorating rapidly but the price is far too high for what is offered. Breakfast was good and wine barrel also went .
All in all a heavy setback which was very good before. Compensation could still make up for some things but that's probably not going to happen .for two nights sleep 433.00 you can expect a bit more

TOP hotel with private spa;-)

We have not visited such a beautiful and unique hotel yet. However, we also had the wine barrel with barrel sauna, whirlpool, infrared sauna etc.;-) A very private spa area. The rooms were very clean, the breakfast delicious and rich. The central location makes a car / bike superfluous. Stavoren is a small beautiful town. We will definitely come back.
