Good value

A very good value wooden hut adjacent to a pub/restaurant.
Four beds, two divans and two bunks, an eating area with take and chairs, and a toilet. The showers are in an outbuilding, and apart from having to walk there they're fine. There are only two showers so you may have to time it right.
I ate in the restaurant, that was good, and I took a packed breakfast ( I was leaving early), the breakfast was enormous and did for packed lunch as well!
The place is a fifteen minute walk to the German border, and there are lots of other walks and cycle routes.
One downside: the huts have metal roofs, and when it rained heavily at night I couldn't sleep for the noise.

Nice Little Find

Close to the Dutch/German border.
Beautiful setting in the near the forest.
Great place to stop of during a cycle or hike.
You can choose to sit either indoors or outside.
Nice friendly staff. Good menu and fast service. Schnitzel very good.
Good playground for children.

Great location, Great staff

Herberg de Bos was lovely. The individually named chalets are really cosy and set in beautiful surroundings. The staff are great and really helpful.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.

Het begin van het einde..

We komen al jaren bij Herberg de Bos. Het is de enige horeca gelegenheid in een prachtige wandelgebied. Door de jaren heen hebben we verschillende hoogte- en dieptepunten meegemaakt. Blijvend hoogtepunt zijn de mooie ligging en het prachtige oorspronkelijke terras. Dieptepunt tot nu toe was het serveren van koffie in een wijnglas. De eigenares zag echter al snel in dat dit verzinsels niet haar talent was. Toen we vandaag wilden gaan eten met zijn vieren werden ons de bestelde drankjes gebracht en we bestudeerden de menukaart. Nadat we vroegen wat de soep van de dag was werd ons verteld dat dit een heerlijke courgette soep was, maar.... aangezien er niet gereserveerd was (het restaurant was eenderde vol) wij geen geen eten konden bestellen. Pardon? Dit soort zakelijk maatregelen zijn het begin van het einde. Penny wise and pound foolish. Heb de bedrijfsleiding verteld hoe teleurgesteld we waren. Als we dit hadden geweten hadden we ook geen drankje besteld. Ik heb afgerekend en we zijn ergens anders gaan eten. Je laat zomaar 150 euro omzet liggen, die we elders wel besteed hebben.

Prima plaats om te lunchen

Tijdens fietstocht een hele goed plek om even te rusten en te lunchen. Vriendelijk personeel en handgemaakte tosti's. Mooi ruim terras en alles wat je nodig hebt. Voor kinderen een speelgelegenheid en voor autos voldoende ruime parkeergelegenheid.
