Brilliant place to stay

Amazing food, brilliant service and great room. Myself and my partner went to the F1 at Spa and stayed over the border at this lovely place in Vijen Netherlands. The whole experience was excellent and really improved our holiday. The staff are extremely helpful and went above and beyond what is usually expected. The best part though was the food, just incredible cuisine and well worth the price. Cocktails arent bad either. Would definitely return if im ever in that part of the world again

One time only visit.

We arrived in the evening and were handed a set of keys, told where room was and times of breakfast "thank you and good night". Almost impossible to manhandle baggage in hallway and stairs dues to 4 mountain bikes being parked there (see photo) - surely a fire hazard ? Room was with shared bathroom, with 4 rooms on the 2nd floor plus more on the 1st floor, the bathroom is shared with perhaps as many as 12 people or more, so getting the use of the bathroom was very much a hit and miss affair. No wash hand basin in room and toilet in bathroom meant that everything had to done in the 1 single bathroom !! Best to get a room with own en suite bathroom to avoid delays !! Only 1 bathroom towel supplied, virtually no soap anywhere, good job we brought our own, no hairdryer in room. Breakfast was served at the table and consisted of a bread roll, 1 croissant, 1 or 2 slices brown bread, hard boiled egg, some ham and cheese, yogurt, orange juice, butter and jam. More than enough and choice of tea, coffee etc. Hotel does close at 9pm so if you want a drink or late night snack you need to cross the road to the hotel - cafe there for that. Large airy room, comfortable beds and decent cable TV choices. As one of my fellow guests remarked "it's a pimped up B & B". Whilst a decent enough hotel, it wouldn't be my 1st choice when we go back to Vijlen.

Very nice

Very nice stay. Room 2 we stayed in was very noisy though early in the morning because of the traffic. We could even hear the traffic with windows closed.
But the food was superb and the beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was ok.

Delicious food!

Very delicious food in the mix between local & Cuban style, we really liked it. A rather rich menu (tapas, meat, fish, dessert, cocktails, wines, beer) friendly staff etc. you can furthermore book Salsa classes at the restaurant.

A good place to stay

We are visiting friends in Vijlen this is a superb small family hotel, very comfortable .will post some pictures later. This area of Holland is easy for Maastricht parts of Germany and Belgium also the park where the three countries come together and of course just down the road is the village of Gulpen which has a really great brewery
