Great place great value

An out of the way place in a restful environment. Great access to the bus and train connections for those who aren't driving. Situated in a small town just minutes outside Amsterdam, it's peaceful and surrounded by cute homes and canals. My room, a single, was clean and just right for me.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, but noisy.

Friendly staff, friendly staff. There's a cafe underneath where it's busy with local billiard players. By the cafe a late check in is possible. Also very extensive breakfast times, from 5.30 to 9.30. Clean rooms and clean shared bathroom facilities. Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice of white and brown bread and cheese, ham, egg and sweet toppings.
In terms of looks it is outdated but it is very clean. Most annoying is the noise, you hear several people going to the toilet at night. So bring earplugs but in terms of price-quality it's fine.
Limited (approximately 6 car;s) free parking, otherwise you have to enter blue zone or pay.

Pub with rooms!

I had an overall bad holiday, but I shall make sure that this review is not a reflection of that and will feature solely on the accommodation.
This is basic!! We had a twin room, which consisted of a double base with 2 single mattresses on this - the only other item in the room was a sink & cupboard for clothes. Our room did have a balcony, however the chairs were absolutely filthy & the dividing glass partition to the next balcony was all cracked. Toilet and shower facilities were shared, but kept clean. Didn't experience breakfast to give an opinion on that. Reasonably priced and good-sized bar downstairs with a rustic feel to it.
This area is not suitable if you wish to visit Amsterdam without having a car or bike. It is very remote, and cost us a small fortune in taxis getting to and from locations. Also regardless of what google maps says, the nearest train station is a good 20km away.
My overall opinion is that this accommodation was a pub with rooms and not a hotel, the proprietor was very nice and helpful so no fault to him at all. To try and conclude with a positive, you do get free wifi :)

No good

The rooms very small and every sound from the hallway can be heard; the rooms are not well isolated. The stairs are cracking, The beds are old and not comfortable. The hotel is not even worth one star. No extra comfort in the rooms either, the only comfort is the free WiFi.

Not good value for money.

I can't understand how the only reviews have been positive. This cannot be described as a hotel as it was much too basic. No TV, shared toilet, hard beds, no insulation so you can here everything that is going on in the building. Obviously no toiletries but surprisingly the showers were dark and I had to go to the shops 20 min walk away as the owner told me they didn't have any soap or shampoo! The breakfast was just square bread and a little ham and cheese. We didn't eat it as it didn't look appealing.
My advice is if you really want to find a hotel in vinkeveen (I would get a hotel in Amsterdam which is close by and cheaper around Amsterdam zuid station ) then go for any another one even if more expensive.
Terrible value for money such that I feel cheated.
