Castle overnight stay

Stayed one night in room Alexander in Chateau Wittem this week. Very nice reception by the butler and brought to the room. Luckily we were helped with the suitcases, because there is no elevator. The room is neatly decorated and has a minibar with some drinks and some snacks that are free. Not too large bathroom where the shower water easily runs into the room because there is no good separation. So put bath mat in front of it. After returning from dinner outside the door there was no one left to provide us with a drink. That was a shame. We have been offered transport to the restaurant near the hotel which was very friendly. The breakfast was nicely catered for. Perhaps as an extra recommendation to purchase one extra single duvet so that guests do not have to sleep under double duvet. You really can't.

Feel like a baron and Baroness...

A beautiful castle in a rural village..
Nice rooms with all up and on..
Really a castle to feel like a castle resident..
We also stayed for dinner in the restaurant, a lovely experience..
Delicious dishes..
In hotel good wifi, free parking..
in short, a nice stay with a nice restaurant..

There is no atmosphere

We stayed at Chateau Wittem on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. We booked the mid-week special. The restaurant was very good. The hotel, too, actually. But we didn't really feel comfortable overall.
Something was missing overall. Attention to detail. Personality. Warmth. Someone who is the host.
You can list a few points, but ultimately it is the sum of the supposed trifles. There are large cupboards in the room. However, no room to open the suitcase. There is a hotel bar, but the rushing and apart from the water empty aquarium creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. Breakfast is pretty expensive. But there is neither fresh orange juice, nor really a fruit salad or a cereal. The sausage and cheese served on the Etagere were draped on it too early and without refrigeration and therefore quite unsightly.
Overall, we would have promised ourselves more. It's too bad.
In summer, when you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the park-like garden, it may be something else.

Fantastisc high-end cuisine

We were here for lunch on a Saturday in the 2star Restaurant. Everything from the multiple mause-bouches up to the Sweet that were served with coffee was extremely well prekäres and extremely refined in taste, not only simply delicious. The staff was very attentive yet unnoticeable. The Chef came to prepare one of the appetizers at our table. There was Not a single critical comment in our entire party of six

It's hard to do better.

Finally a place where they know what hospitality is.
Super is the word to use all the time.
You are met at the car and you are constantly surprised.
Fortunately, you don't notice the staff shortage that everyone is experiencing here.
Everyone very professional. Everything is possible and nothing is necessary.
What a relief.
