Zaltbommel has an attractive van der Valk hotel with friendly staff!

Attractive hotel van der Valk Zaltbommel, we see that immediately upon entering. Friendly staff and our room so nice rose petals on the bed for our special wedding day. Very thoughtful! And in the evening the asparagus dinner it is delicious! and the breakfast a delectable start to the day. We stay another day and enjoy our stay very much.

strange operation

Yesterday we had dinner with our family at van der Valk restaurant Salt in Zaltbommel. The food was delicious, we absolutely enjoyed it. But the waiter's behavior was really weird. Every time he came to our table, he started with "good evening" and ended with "good evening". After about 12 times that becomes laughable. Also, questions that started again and again with: "is it too early to ask if ...?" came very strangely to us. We really thought there was a candid camera. We felt like we were being taken for a ride.
At checkout he gave at least 3 hints that there should be a tip. When I didn’t give it (because he was a really negative factor during the evening) he couldn’t get rid of a friendly word and turned his back on us.
For now but not to this van der Valk anymore.....

Zaltbommel good base for cyclists and fishermen

We were here for three days during the recent heat wave. Nice air conditioning in the room and in the hotel itself. Because Zaltbommel is located between the Waal and the Maas, it was reasonably temperature outside. Ideal bike again. We drove to den Bosch by bike, beautiful bike paths also a trip to the Kerkdriel is recommended. I also went fishing for the krieben in the Waal easily accessible by car. The center of Zaltbommel is also easily accessible by car with large free parking. The hotel itself is very nice inside, the superior room is highly recommended. Only downside is that there is only one coat hook in the bathroom for clothes and towels. We also, had a nice meal in the restaurant and took something in the bar, all fine. Large fitness room, unfortunately someone had stolen the 3kgs and 4kgs dumbbells. Don't be put off by the outside which is a styl that is no longer fashionable.

Very good stay!

Large, clean, and modern room with a big shower, separate toilet, air conditioning, kettle, and refrigerator. Parking is sufficient and free, conveniently located near the A2 highway.
Breakfast is excellent. I did not try the restaurant myself, but colleagues were also positive about it.

Good hotel -

From the outside, it looks like a box of office space. With ample parking and a lockable bicycle storage. The power supply for eBike was used by some guests to charge the car..inside it is nice and really decorated according to van der Valk. The room had a surprising layout with an open bathroom. There's some mold in the shower. The shower is spacious.
The beds are fine.
Restaurant has a surprising choice of many oriental dishes.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
