A Memorable Stay in the Heart of Raglan.
We had a fantastic stay at Raglan Backpackers. The location is excellent, right on the waterfront and within easy walking distance of cafes, restaurants, and shops in Raglan town.
Although we arrived quite late for check-in, everything had been prepared for us in advance. Our rooms were ready, and having our names displayed on the room tags made the check-in process smooth and welcoming.
The rooms and common areas were clean and well-maintained, and the facilities provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The property's overall ambience was relaxing and enjoyable. We especially liked the hammocks placed outside many of the rooms, where some of us unwound and enjoyed the surroundings.
The property also has great communal spaces, including outdoor seating areas and a comfortable shared lounge overlooking the waterfront, making it a perfect place to relax and spend time with friends. The property had a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Guests could comfortably use the common areas to chat, cook, eat, and socialize. Quiet hours were observed from 10:00 PM onwards, which helped maintain a peaceful environment for everyone and ensured a good night's sleep.
The shared kitchen was another highlight of our stay. While it is a communal space, it created a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers from different places. We had wonderful conversations, connected with new people, and even shared food, which added to the overall backpacker experience and made our stay even more memorable.
The shared facilities were kept clean and tidy throughout our stay. As with most popular backpacker accommodations, they can get a little busy at peak times, but this did not take away from our overall experience.
The accommodation offers great value for money and is an ideal base for exploring Raglan and its beautiful surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Raglan Backpackers to anyone looking for comfortable, affordable, and conveniently located accommodation.

Relaxed atmosphere
The Raglan backpacker's location is fantastic – central, very nice and characterized by an open, friendly atmosphere. Especially the many young people and the relaxed atmosphere make the stay pleasant. The staff and other guests were consistently nice and helpful. Those who appreciate the great location and relaxed atmosphere will have a lot of fun here.
I had a private twin room with queen size bed for one night. The room and the view did not correspond to the pictures on the website: A container was right outside the window, so it was quite dark. The rooms are located on a covered corridor, open to the atrium with a lawn, making it very cold at night or in the morning to the toilet or shower.
The shared bathroom for women is in need of renovation: One toilet was permanently locked, the other was defective, and the changing facilities before the shower were barely usable. The towel at the toilet should be changed at least once a day. According to the fellow travelers, the shared bathroom for men was fine.

I had a good room. Duvet provided which was nice. The staff and other people were friendly. Had a good night there and hope to return.

Neat place to stay -- just needs better respect for the rules
We went as an intergenerational family, including non-surfers. We enjoyed the amenities and the location. There is on-street parking available. I agree that the rules are not always adhered too as one night the noise curfew was not respected, and a number of people decided it was OK to smoke in the non-smoking patio. People are generally friendly, though.
