Fit the location for our trip
Have to say it was just ok. Front desk young man could have been more pleasant upon arrival. We had a fjord view room on the lower level. Eh, was it worth the extra money? Probably not. There are No Elevators so if you are not on the level with the front desk, you will be going down a flight of stairs to your lower-level room. We walked to a pizza shop nearby for dinner. Breakfast was included and there were many options available.

Unfortunately, this stay did not give a good impression of the hotel.
I had booked a single room for three nights for around NOK 1,800 per night. I had seen the pictures in advance, but I must admit that I had not imagined that the bathroom would be so small and impractical in use. For me who am an adult man of normal to large size it worked just badly. You sit closest to the door opening when you use the toilet, and the shower solution is so narrow that you are in practice standing over the sink when you shower. The flooring was also about to fade off in several places.
When I arrived the room the door to connecting room was unlocked. The internet worked badly, the bed lamp didn’t work, and the TV hacked on both rooms I stayed in during my stay.
I took up the challenge with the room already the first day and asked if it was possible to get another room. Then I was told that it was not possible. The next day I asked again, and was informed that the case had to be settled with the hotel management.
The interesting thing was that the room exchange offer only came later that day, while I sat and had lunch with my client. Then it was suddenly possible to get another room for an extra of NOK 200 per night. I immediately accepted that because I could not see for me to stay three nights in the original room.
The new room was significantly better, but the experience left an impression that you as an ordinary guest are not prioritized in the same way as groups and partners.
Unfortunately, breakfast was also not a good experience. On two of three mornings it was empty for juice at breakfast start. Several guests commented on this. The last morning, new juice arrived at 7:45. The potatoes were also repeatedly delayed relative to opening time.
What probably surprised me most was how little staff appeared during breakfast. When breakfast opens at 07:00, basic goods should be in place, and staff should be available to attend to the buffet and guest needs. Unfortunately, I experienced the opposite.
I had dinner at the hotel the first night. The pig was perfectly clean, but the potato mos was dry and there was very little sauce. During the dinner there was simultaneously music from the restaurant and from the kitchen, so that two different songs competed against each other. It created a strange atmosphere that the staff also agreed with when I pointed out.
Later I had lunch with clients and course participants at the hotel. The chicken burger was good, and the hotel should be praised for it.
The common areas appear beautiful and welcoming, and the hotel has a great location. Therefore, it is an extra pity that the level of service and the follow-up of guests is not in line with the rest of the hotel.
I travel a lot for work and stay in many hotels every year. This is unfortunately one of those stays I sit with as a disappointment.

Great, but is it worth the money
Very nice hotel with great standard and nice atmosphere, but unfortunately too expensive in comparison to what you actually get. The room was small, and the overall experience was not quite the same as the price.
The restaurant at the hotel also holds a very high price level. I ordered fish for dinner, and the portion consisted of two small fish bits, two almond potatoes and a couple of small carrots. I'm usually small-eaten, but still didn't get full and had to buy more food afterwards.
Fortunately, there are better and more affordable options just outside the hotel. Among other things, it is possible to buy pizza and other food nearby, as long as you reach it before the locations close.

The hotel has lost a lot, we won't come back
This was our last stay at the hotel! Having been there several times in the last few years, the hotel has really lost itself now, while it has never been more expensive: poor breakfast, dirty rooms, miserable extra beds (as the reception said they knew, but where they obviously run a tactic where they hope for the best and stick their heads in the sand) and ice-cold baths. That the hotel has lost the deal with Hardangerbadet on a day free entrance for hotel guests, is also quite bad.

Terrible place
Disappointing place, modest rooms without even a fridge. Small bathroom and inhospitable shower. Rude and inexperienced reception. We asked for clarification on excursions proposed by their brochures and they were unable to give us any support.
Only the restaurant is worth saving
As for the rest, neither the city nor the hotel is worth a stop. In Norway, there are much more beautiful places to visit.
